Objective:

To work as a mechanical

engineer in the industrial sector involving research,

design,

simulation, and testing that will utilize my analytical and

computational

skills.

Education:

Master of Science (MS) in Mechanical Engineering,

Columbus, OH USA

Sept

1999 – Jun 2001

GPA

3.93/4.00

Specialization: Analysis

of thin-rimmed gears and shafts

Bachelor of Technology (B Tech) in Mechanical

Engineering

Indian Institute of

Technology, Madras (Chennai),

INDIA

Jul

1995 – Jun 1999

GPA 8.89/10.00

Specialization: Machine

Dynamics, Machine Design, Finite Elements,

Computer Aided Design, IC Engines,

Operations

Research

Work Experience and Projects:

Jul 01 – Present: Drivetrain Engineer (2001-2004) and Drivetrain test engineer (2004-present) at PEC,

Waterloo, IA, USA

Worked on many drivetrain related

projects such as torsional vibration analysis, system simulation,

speed-torque charts, CFD analysis of clutches, etc.

Also worked on extensive drivetrain mechanical and hydraulic systems testing

Sep 99 – Jun 00 & Oct 00 – Jun 2001: Graduate Associate at, OSU,

Columbus, OH

Worked on the static analysis of

thin-rimmed gears and

developed new user-friendly subroutines for the existing Load

distribution

program (LDP).

An FE program was written to compute

the compliance of

a thin-rimmed gear and LDP was modified to load the data with

interpolation for

the thin rim analysis.

At present, working on the Finite

Element Analysis of

Shafts in a transmission system and plan to do the Free and Forced

Vibration analysis.

Jul 00 – Sept 00: Summer

Intern at M&M Precision

Systems Corporation, Dayton, OH

Worked on a number of tasks related

to gear geometry

during the period., some of them being gear and shaver topographical

maps.

Was also a member of a team of two to

develop a new

inspection program to scan the root-fillet of a gear using a 3-D

pneumatic

probe.

Integrated the M&M gear

inspection software and the

Ohio State University ‘s LDP.

Jan 99 – Apr 99: Sponsored

Project by Tractors and Farm Equipment

Limited, Chennai, India

Modal analysis of gear train of an

agricultural

tractor: Various Parts in the gear train were modeled as discrete

masses and

inertia, and stiffnesses were computed based on the geometry and

modeled as a

linear system.

Various Eigen values were determined

for two different

systems and safe operating speeds were identified.

May 98 – Jul 98: Summer Intern

at, New

Delhi, India

Studied the Vehicle Inspection

procedures and

prepared/modified operational standards/instructions for inspection.

Studied the differences between two

versions of a model

‘Zen’ viz., Zen (Petrol) and Zen (Diesel).

Computer Skills:

CAD Software: I-DEAS MS6, AutoCAD, Pro-E

Analysis Packages: MSC.Easy5, LMS Dads/Virtual.Lab,

Matlab, Adapco-StarCD, OSU-LDP, ANSYS, ADAMS

Achievements:

Was among top 2% of 100000 appeared

for Joint Entrance

Examination (IIT

JEE) conducted

throughout India and subsequently got

admission into IIT Madras.

Secured 94.3% in Intermediate

Education (with Math and

Science as main subjects) for which State Government of Andhra Pradesh,

India

awarded me 3 yr scholarship.
