Date: 2012-10-25, 10:02PM EDT

Hello, my name is Tim, I am 55 years old and I am currently looking for a part-time job driving a Semi, Bus or a Drive-Away. I have experience with end dumps, belly dumps, end dump trailers, end dump with pups. I am from Alaska and up their they have end dump trucks with pups. You dont see this type configuration in the South that I have seen. The only end dumps I have seen here are the end dumps with the pup beds actually slide into the truck dump bed. On the end dump with pups in Alaska you would first dump the pup, then you would jacknife the truck and the trailer and dump the truck bed. After you dumped the truck bed you would clean the dirt off the tounge leading to the pup so you didn't get dirt on the road as you traveled. I started driving this type truck when i was 16 years old. At that time you did not need a CDL, you could drive any vehicle with a regular driver's license. I have also hauled small D-3 Cats on a tilt trailer along with other small equipment all around the Anchorage area. In Anchorage we mainly built roads, bike paths, housing foundations, water and Sewer. Most years this was 7 to 8 months out of the year, depending how soon it started snowing and how cold it was. During the winter we plowed snow with pickup trucks, graders and loaded the snow into the semis and took the snow off site to dump. I drove for my father who had 10 to 12 different type trucks. Each of thes trucks had different engine and transmission configurations so I had to learn all the different kind of configurations. My father had Heavy equipment also such as D-3's, D-8s, 225 and 235 backhoes, small case backhoes, compacters, watertrucks and waterwagons. This is where my experience began in the construction industry in Alaska on dry roads and snowy and icy roads. In 1980 I moved to Sacramento, CA and worked for GE & BE Freight lines. At this location I did not drive but I learned how to load and distribute different kinds of freight on trailers to deliver in the Northern Ca area. These trucks and trailers were double van type trailers so after I loaded them I would hook the doubles and get them ready for the delivery drivers. I worked for them for two years and became pretty knowledgable about loading and weight distribution.

In 1984 I returned to Anchorage, Alaska and hauled top soil (peat moss & sand) for new addition track homes, for new lawns to be fertilized and seeded. Once again in the winter I plowed snow and hauled snow in a semi and pup around the Anchorage area.

In October of 1986 I moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and I decided I wanted to work somewhere that I had job security, through the winter and a Pension and a Retirement Fund. I worked for Las Vegas Transit from 1, 1987 to 6, 1989. During this time I drove every type of bus on every route that Las Vegas Transit had. I loved the work and the excitement in the Las Vegas area but my father passed away and I had to resign to relocate my Mother. In 1989 I went to work for a sawmill out of Texarkana, Tx. While working for them I delivered lumber, railroad ties, dirty chips, clean chips and telephone poles. I would deliver these in the Tri State area of Arkansas, Texas and Lousianna. I drove a Kenworth with a cummins and a 10 speed in it. In March of 1990 I moved to Phoenix, Az to help my mother out. I started work with Phoenix Transit in June of 1990. I drove all types of buses they had with different configurations. I drove all routes in and around Phoenix and all of the suburbs surrounding the Phoenix Metro area. In 2001 I became a trainer and taught perspective drivers in a safe manner and taught them all area routes. Taught company and union by laws and customer service. As well as in classroom teaching. I was responsible for teaching CDL drivers all phases of written, basic control skills test and the road test. Also taught drivers the seven step brake test, which most drivers had the most difficulties in passing the test. I also was certified by the State of Arizona to give potential Class A and B test. While still working with Phoenix Transit I transferred to two different departments my last three years their.

I transferred from traning and testing to Road supervisor. I transferred because I liked being on the road and assisting drivers with troubles they may have encountered during the day. Troubled passengers, Schedule adherence, Bus problems, transfer shortages, operator sickness or assault and investigation of transit related accidents, drug screens in accordance with accidents. In April of 2004 I transferred into the operation control center. A this location my job was to moniter the buses movements, watch schedule adherence, replace buses with help until they could get back on schedule, once driver was back on schedule extra bus was sent to a layover location to wait for next assignment. Monitered all buses by GPS and answered all calls in and assisted via company policy.

Got cancer in esophogus and had entire esophogus removed. Took 4 month's to get strong enough to go back to work. Things didn't go as well as expected and retired in August of 2006. Retired and moved to Kentucky.

In 2008 went to work for a DriveAway company. Would pick up new bucket trucks or drilling trucks from AllTec in Elizabethtown, Ky and transport them to diffirent cities accross the United States.. In 2009 I went to a different Division of the same company. there home office was in Deposit New York. I did basicaally the same thing out of Deposit New York that I did out of Elizabethtown, Ky. I would pick up new trucks across the United States and deliver them to there new home in whatever state they resided. I delivered to most of the lower 48 states. Over two years safe driving, no accidents. Perfect driving record, no speeding tickets, wreckless or moving violations. After truck was delivered I would unlocktow car if I had one, take a taxi to location of new truck to be transported,or take a taxi to the airport, bus station, barge, railway or ride with another driver that had also delivered or at the same location. These modes of transportation would take me to the airport and I would go to the next city to pick up the next truck or return home. Really enjoyed this type of work but misunderstanding between the dispatchers and I made me decide to resign working for them.

I wanted to give a brief description of my abilities in the different type of trucks and buses I have driven through the years. I have driven a lot of different types of trucks with different size engines and transmission configurations. I don't know if someone out their is looking for an individual with quite a bit of experience with different equipment. I am looking for a part time job, 20 to 25 or 30 hrs per week. I live in Upton KY area code 42784. I would like to do is work right around these amount of hours. I would like a dedicated route that fills in for someone on there days off if possible. If possible I would like to drive the same route weekly on the same day, with the same equipment if possible. I would prefera Southern or Western route, unload or drop and hook location if possible.

15 year safe driving award, current medical card and class A license, no endorsements.

If a bus company is interested I have about 18 years driving a bus and it would be no problem to reaquire the P endorsement. I have driven all across the United States and in all kinds of conditions. I can verify long or short time driving record. If you are looking for a reliable driver to work part time please consider me as I would like to be part of a team. If your current driver might be close on his hours every week, and needs a break, give me a call. If you have a certain route you need help with give me a call. You wont be dissapointed. I take great pride in the work I do.
