Manager, Providence Rehabilitation and Wellness Center (PRWC) 2005-2012
Responsible for all operations and strategic planning of PRWC. Areas of direct report included cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, stress testing lab, medical wellness program, student internship programs and natatorium services. Established and served as chair of Providence Wellness committee which created NEW-U (Nutrition, Exercise, Wellness University) for our associates and business partners. Led PRWC to consistent double digit growth for the past 7 years, while maintaining exceptional patient satisfaction scores and extremely low turnover. As Chairman of the Providence Grant Committee, I wrote and directed multiple grants resulting in total awards over $2.5 million. Also served as Mission Mentor and instructor for Healing Without Harm, national initiative to reduce adverse hospital events within Ascension Health System.
Assistant Director, Rehabilitative Services 1998-2005
Developed new in-patient rehabilitation processes. Achieved national program recognition as a certified cardiac rehabilitation program by the AACVPR. Developed highly successful model for corporate based disease prevention, workforce productivity, and health improvement. Developed comprehensive student internship program for exercise physiologists, registered nurses, and physical therapists for cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation. Developed referral guidelines and eligibility criteria for all levels of care within the PRWC. Maintained regulatory compliance with all physical and operational requirements of JCAHO, CLIA and CMS.
Program Coordinator, Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation 1989-1998
Expanded rehabilitative programs and coordinated move to new 21,000 sq. ft. facility. Initiated new in-patient cardiopulmonary program to expedite discharge to appropriate out-patient programs to minimize LOS and readmission rates. Established new out-patient referral procedures consistent with new Medicare guidelines for various rehabilitation programs. Secondary to program growth, coordinated departmental move and expansion with responsibility for regulatory compliance of clinical and building code to maximize flow of healthcare delivery.
Exercise Physiologist 1986-1989
First on contract with vendor company, and then on Providence Hospital payroll, responsible for in-patient and out-patient education, discharge planning, functional capacity assessments, as well as development and instruction of exercise prescriptions. Member of a highly cohesive team of certified diabetes educators including RD's, RPT's, RN's, RRT's and MD's. Daily participation in team meetings and case study reviews with Diabetes Center staff led to achievement of a Recognized Diabetes Center by the American Diabetes Association.

Established the Providence Grant Steering committee in 2003 to oversee our growing grant works. As a member of the committee, I was funded on 8 different projects, for a total of over $665,000. In 2005, was named the Chairman of the Providence Grant Committee, specifically to write and direct two Federal research awards to study hospital throughput performances. These two applications resulted in $1.86 million in Federal Awards resulting in over 2.5 million in total awards.
