Industry Experience

2007 - 2012 General Pension Planning Corporation

Retirement plan consultant tasked with customer service responsibility and technical oversight responsibility of qualified and non-qualified retirement plans with valuations of up to $100 million dollars. Specific duties included, but were not limited to:

Collection and review of Census data

Compliance testing for all clients using available software (TSM, Blaze)

Annual plan valuations, client reporting and tax reporting (5500, SAR, 8895 SSA)

Sponsor and participant contact

Review of all distribution and loan requests, calculating amounts available and vesting

Attendance at trustee meetings and drafting minutes

30 Day Notices for fund changes and other various legally required Notices

Special projects include:

Orchestrating General Pension Planning Corporation`s initial SAS70 II Certification Audit

Implementing the firm`s website

Administrative oversight of a large Taft Hartley plan

1989 - 2007 The Reynolds and Reynolds Company - Retirement Services

Reynolds employed "in-house" administration for all their retirement plans (including defined benefit, defined contribution and non-qualified plans) until 1995 (estimate) when the record keeping function was outsourced to Invesco. My last several years at Reynolds were in a minor supervisory capacity. My responsibilities included, but were not limited to:

Participant communication - enrollment meetings at all locations in the mid-west and east coast, one on one participant counseling, advanced participant presentations on investment education

Processing participant transactions for loans, distributions and fund changes - this involved creating files for submission to the TPA after outsourcing the record keeping function.

Annually worked with actuary and record keeper on all testing and valuations

Served on the Investment Committee and conducted RFP's for an attorney for our Canadian plan and for a switch in TPA from Invesco to JP Morgan and participated in fund searches when current investments failed the Investment Policy Statement for the 401(k) Plan.

Created materials for all Annual Plan Committee reviews and participated in same

Reviewed and processed all QDRO's

Worked with internal programmers on the conversion of HR and payroll systems to incorporate legal changes for the retirement plans

Administered separate formula's for employer and employee contributions (union/non-union) within the 401(k) Plan

Instrumental in the development of a 401(k) plan that achieved "Best Plan in America" recognition from JP Morgan as well as winning a Gold Quill for communications in conjunction with JP Morgan in the design and implementation of the company's enrollment and education materials for the 401(k) Plan

Assigned to a "first-strike" team for numerous acquisitions that included plan terminations and plan mergers

Team Lead with 3 direct reports. Oversaw the day to day work flow and assigned tasks as necessary.

Responsible for providing the department head with information for annual employee reviews

1981 - 1989 First National Bank, Dayton - Trust Department

Clerical and data entry duties in the administration of Employer retirement plans. Reported to multiple supervisors.
