General Manager

Reporting to the owner, directed licensing, permitting, accounting, human resources, estimating, sales and marketing operations. Led an organization of up to 225 staff with P&L responsibility for $11M budget. Worked directly with contractors, government entities developers, and area municipalities.

- Recruited by the owners as General Manager for environmental business start-up to lead development of organizational infrastructure improving employee engagement, productivity and business results. Within twelve months after reorganization, sales had increased 55% and net profits 32%.

- During period of rapid growth, managed and negotiated purchase of 5-acre parcel and directed construction of an environmentally sensitive complex of four buildings as company headquarters and a show case to customers. Negotiated purchase at 50% down and the balance due over 10 years at 10% interest during a period when raw land loans were hard to secure and at higher rates.

' Secured an agricultural exemption on the land eliminating a costly rezoning effort and resulting in substantially lower company property taxes; secured an SBA loan of $490K for construction funding. Project was completed on time and $20K under budget.

Led the initiative and secured affordable non-catastrophic health coverage for labor employees/dependents unable to afford the standard company sponsored health insurance program.
