Overview

* Producing higher performance standards and enhancing productivity during a period of shrinking budgets.

* Automating departments. As head of the Maintenance Management section of an organization of over 700 personnel, oversaw the addition of two additional organizations of equipment and corrected equipment readiness reporting to reflect on-the-ground reality. This resulted in a more true representation of material readiness reporting from 66% to 89%.

* Controlling growth management - able to motivate and maximize productivity and employee morale without financial incentives. Took the organization from bottom-of-the-barrel adherence to Top-3 in a region of hundreds of organizations in three months. Personally recognized as the reason for the change and consulted by both inspectors and other organizations for process improvement and methods of adherence.

* Developing and implementing highly successful strategic plans (short and long term). Established and implemented Distance Learning solution for an organization of 100k+ personnel. This program resulted in cost savings of over $60k within the first month of implementation.

Professional Experience

United States Marine Corps, 1991 - 1998; 2006 - 2010

SERGEANT - Completed 11-year career with the USMC. Participated in the complete

revitalization and overhaul of the USMC Recruit Academic Training Program in the 1990`s as part of adoption of more stringent standards for initial training.

Played a leading role in the Marine Corps project revamping and adopting a 21st Century approach to Logistics. This project saw the adoption of an Oracle 11i eBusiness Suite (EBS) as part of the Logistics Modernization effort of the Marine Corps towards the Commandant`s Vision for 2025.

Part of the lead implementation team that proved Marine Corps Logistics could be managed like a well-tuned corporate machine (similar to FedEx and Toyota). A successful record for proposing and implementing cost-saving ideas for complex organizations and responsible for millions of dollars in assets. Specific duties and achievements include:

Management:

Led organizational Maintenance Management programs for various units consisting of

Communications, Transportation, Logistic Support and Food Service Companies. Managed fielding of high-tech, multimillion dollar products which revolutionized Marine Corps communication and logistic capabilities. These systems were critical to the success of the Marine Corps` humanitarian assistance response to the Japanese earthquake and tsunami in 2011.

Instrumental in the success of the implementation of the Marine Corps` Global Combat Support System (GCSS), hand-selected to serve as change agent, developer and instructor for initial implementation. Upgraded training curriculum and methods for Marine Corps Recruit Training and GCSS-MC, and cross-trained personnel in job duties within assigned organizations resulting in lower supervision requirements and a significant cost savings in overtime.

Operations & Logistics:

Served as the primary logistical advisor for maintenance to the Commander for an organization responsible for multi-million dollars` worth of equipment. Responsible for managing the procurement of durable and expendable items under the budget. A recognized expert in maintenance and logistical efforts for complex organizations with 98% accuracy and success, including the on-boarding of additional organizations in a high-tempo operational and restructuring environment, as well as preparation for and the timely transfer of millions of dollars worth of equipment to support and maintain operations.

Automation & Cost Control:

Implemented cost and time-saving processes and procedures for maintenance and logistical efforts for an organization of 700 personnel and multi-million dollars` worth of equipment. Cut burdensome administrative efforts to align with organizational requirements and free subordinate sections to focus more effort on operations. Improved the equipment readiness reporting rate from 66% to 89% in less than 2 months through attention to detail. A highly-skilled technical individual, computer literate, able to maximize Management Information Systems to increase profitability.

Training & Development:

Spent the last two years as a Technical Trainer with GCSS-MC, and Oracle 11i eBusiness Suite product being implemented by the USMC. Played lead role in designing and implementing the training program and distance learning solutions for the project. Personally involved in training thousands of individuals across a global organization, even in austere environments. Personally involved in supervising, training and mentoring personnel at all levels, from initial training to advanced levels of leadership.
