St. Joseph`s Hospital affiliated with Froedtert Health in July of 2008. Froedtert Health is a $1.4 billion in operating revenue, regional health care organization made up of three hospitals, a primary and multi-specialty physician group and affiliated with The Medical College of Wisconsin.

VP, Human Resources 2008-2009
-Responsible directly to the Sr. VP of Human Resources of Froedtert Health for site and health system human resource responsibilities and indirectly to the President/Chief Executive Officer of St. Joseph`s Hospital, as a member of the executive team and for the overall direction and management of the human resource function for the hospital.
-Aligned and integrated, as a hospital executive team member, human resources and other departmental strategies to implement the strategic plan consistent with the mission, vision and philosophy of St. Joseph`s Hospital and Froedtert Health.
-Participated in strategic operational planning and worked closely with the hospital President/CEO to accomplish the goals/objectives, operational and strategic plan of the hospital and health system established in cooperation with the boards of directors and system leadership as it related to human resources and related functions.
-Lead and developed a team in all functional human resource areas. Annually achieved the goal as a top tier engaged department (per results of the employee engagement survey), earning a high level of credibility as an effective and responsive internal human resources consulting group.
-Served as an internal consultant to leadership and employees regarding human resource issues and assisted management in carrying out their leadership responsibilities as evidenced by 90th percentile ratings on quarterly Support Staff Services Surveys.
-Oversaw leader and staff performance management systems for Froedtert Health as well as the staff that support the software system.
-Facilitated the work group responsible for initiating the set-up and on-boarding of four specialty practices to St. Joseph`s Hospital that included ten urologists, one plastic surgeon and sixteen cardiologists from the Medical College of Wisconsin and twenty contracted radiologists.
-Created, facilitated and implemented human resource communications strategy, policies and procedures, quarterly updates, etc.
-Facilitated the strategic planning and visioning for the Froedtert Health human resource division to achieve system objectives of highly effective programs that emphasize the critical importance and value of the human resource function to the health system and its strategic plan.
-Formed and chaired the hospital Policies & Procedure Committee and Accountability Team and served as Executive Champion for the Performance Excellence Standards & Recognition Team.
-Established and chaired a Diversity Action Team and defined goals to support health system diversity and inclusion initiatives.
-Developed and presented the annual hospital human resources $350,000 operating budget and, upon final approval, assured that all functions operated within appropriated amounts, managed expenditures and reported budget variances. Consistent results yielded annual favorable budget variances.
-Lead restructuring of organization`s leadership, redefined span of control for more efficient and effective use of FTE`s to meet projected targets based on patient volumes.
-Delivered `Just Culture` presentation at the Minnesota Alliance for Patient Safety (MAPS) Conference in November 2009.
SynergyHealth St. Joseph`s Hospital 2002-2008
St. Joseph`s Hospital and physician clinics, formerly known as the West Bend Clinic, joined to form SynergyHealth in 2002.

-Participated in the development and planning of a new hospital using innovative design specific to patient safety. The project garnered national recognition and inspired publication of twenty seven articles and two books. Project completion and transfer to the new facility accomplished in August, 2005.
-Worked with outside consultant to select and execute an Executive Compensation and Benefit program that met competitive market issues which improved recruitment and retention of key executives.
-Developed and implemented an employee engagement survey based on industry best practices.
-Developed a culture component outlining performance and behavior expectations and tied it to performance evaluations to ensure accountability.
-Resumed leadership responsibility for all HR functions with focus on executive benefit & compensation program, leadership & physician recruitment, compensation, staff & leadership competencies and performance management.
VP of Marketing & Planning 2002-2003
-Worked with a community leader sub-committee to select and secure property to build a new hospital. Accomplished securing the site within 6 months.
-Selected and worked with marketing firm during hospital construction project in response to negative community sentiment, to address and promote benefits of the project and its effect on the community with positive messaging.
-Created a marketing campaign to introduce and promote the first 8 bed in-patient hospice in Washington County.
-Recruited 20 physicians for the West Bend Clinic from 2002 through 2008 and grew specialties including dermatology, ophthalmology, pediatrics, plastics, urology and orthopedics.
-Actively involved in and supported the formation of SynergyHealth, Inc., a health system consisting of the West Bend Clinic and St. Joseph`s Hospital.

St. Joseph`s Hospital is a 70 bed, 600 employee, $88 million in operating revenue, not-for-profit, community hospital located in West Bend, Wisconsin and is currently one of three hospitals within the Froedtert Health system.

-Selected and implemented the ADP human resources information system (HRIS) and Payroll system, on budget and on-time.
