Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Curriculum Coordinator
Flying MQ-9 Predator B contracted from UND to General Atomics and subcontracted to Customs and Border Protection. CBP Evaluator and Chief Instructor Pilot. Developed courseware for CBP and new UND academic degree program. Instruct and evaluate all phases of MQ-9 flight. Wrote and presented Introduction to Unmanned Aircraft Systems class. Built CropCam flying program to develop a database of UAS flights in the National Airspace System (NAS), as a foundation for future UAS flying regulations. Hired, trained, and supervised nine students to work as crew members in the CropCam program. Coordinated the purchase of three small UAS for the Aerospace department and two medium sized UAS for the Engineering department. Wrote COA applications to fly UAS in the NAS by the university. Currently have 26 COAs approved by the FAA. 24 of my approved COAs are in North Dakota, one in Washington state, and one is in Alaska. Work closely with the National Guard, Air Force, and local political powers on ongoing airspace issues.

Performed classroom instruction, simulator instruction and in-flight instruction of USAF, Italian AF, and civilian aircrews. Wrote, reviewed and revised USAF-approved courseware for Predator training. Responsible for flight safety, laser safety and weapons employment safety. Wrote the draft for the unclassified operations manual for the MQ-1. Was on the writing team for 3-1 and 3-3, Vol 29 for the MQ-1.

Chief of F-117A Weapons and Tactics 8th Fighter Sq. Holloman, AFB
Piloted the F-117A Stealth fighter. Trained 35 pilots in F-117A weapons and tactics and enemy threat systems. Planned and led military operations that involved coordination of multinational assets. Protected the integrity of highly classified materials. Worked closely with the intelligence community in the acquisition of materials and information to improve the survivability and combat capability of one of only two Stealth Fighter Squadrons in the world.
A-10A Flight Commander, Weapons Officer Davis-Monthan, AFB
Supervised five instructors and fifteen upgrading pilots. Programmed complex mandatory ground and flying training for all squadron pilots. Responsible for all phases of student training to guarantee on-time graduation. Led squadron deployments to major training exercises. Was responsible for deployment of ten A-10A aircraft, fifteen pilots, and over fifty support personnel and associated equipment necessary to maintain flying operations for a month while at a deployed location. Designed and taught a comprehensive bombing improvement program that was bench marked by other squadrons in the wing. Recognized by the Tactical Air Command as the 1990 A-10A Instructor Pilot of the Year.
