as an oracle dba. My background is mostly in the system admin area, where

besides normal dba activities, i have exposure

Responsible for installing and maintaining Oracle 8i, 8 and Oracle 7 for 28

databases on 15 HP Unix 11.0 And 10.20 servers. Installed Sqlbacktrack and ADSM

on all servers for backup and recovery. Implemented a data warehouse database of

1 treabyte and supported it on a daily basis.Installed the following vendor

software: Documentum, Filenet, Sample Guardian and Filenet's backup system.

Supported several validated application as well as all production applications

on all servers. Created unix backup scripts as well as database creation,

import, export, table creation, analyze, truncate scripts. Was responsibe for

all Y2K testing of databases and applications on a special Y2K server.

ORACLE DBA CONSULTANT, LUCENT Technologies, April 1996 to Sept 1997:

Responsible for installing Oracle 7.3 and SQL*Net 2.3 on 8 HP servers and

client workstations.Installed the following vendor software on eight HP

servers: Sherpa, Shop Floor Data Manager and Factory Link. Implemented HP's

SERVICE GUARD with Oracle as well as backup and recovery script for all database

servers, installed Sybase SQLAnywhere database on NT servers for collecting

manufacturing data from client workstations and implemented security procedures

for the Cognos reporting tool. Installed Oracle Client and SQL*Net on an NT

server. Created multiple Oracle databases for all HP servers and was

administrator for all databases. Installed PeopleSoft's HR application.

ORACLE DBA CONSULTANT, R.W. Johnson; May 1995 to April 1996: Responsibilities

environment and eleven databases on six HP-UX servers. Created databases,

tables and views, moved applications into production, monitored systems and

evaluated DBA tools. Provided performance tuning and installed software such as

SQL*Net and Oracle's Developer 2000. Supported a variety of included supporting

ten databases on four VAX servers in a clustered pharmaceutical research

Responsibilities included software installation, database creation and

supporting all applications on two RS/6000 servers and several VAX servers.

Installed SQL*Net V2, set up archive logging, established backup and recovery

procedures and set up the disk layout on all servers. Produced a capacity

planning document and created File Transfer Protocol procedures. Installed the

DB2 governor and documented existing DBA scripts. Used SMIT utility on the

RS/6000 server.
