Resumes Combination

Description

A combination resume combines two types of resumes: a chronological and a functional resume. A

combination resume format merges the best elements of both the chronological and functional resume

formats. This type primarily emphasizes the following: Objectives, skills, accomplishments, and

employment history.

Skills & Accomplishments section

Immediately follows an objective and/or summary of qualifications. This section may be entitled

Experience, Achievements, Career Highlights, Abilities, Areas of Effectiveness, or

Qualifications Summary.

Employment History section

This section is usually called Work History, Employment History, or Experience. It also

includes a single line for each employer: title of position, name of employer, location of

employment, and inclusive employment dates.

Combination Resume

A combination resume may be a shorter chronology of job descriptions preceded by a short

Skills and Accomplishments section (or with a longer summary including a skills list or a list of

Qualifications ) may also be a standard functional resume with the accomplishments under the

heading of different jobs held.

It may be used if the employer needs to see both history and related skills. The combination of

the two formats emphasizes important, relevant, or unique skills gained in non work

environments as well as draws attention to skills developed from employment.

This type is perfect if your recent work is not your most impressive.
