My husband and I own our own business which we purchased from my husbands family in 1996. For 16 years we have been successful at HILLCREST BAR AND GRILL by adding a full kitchen with great food, running comedy nights, euchre leagues, and pool leagues! My husband now runs the business and I am seeking employment to get back in the business world.

I was in charge of all the hiring, firing, ordering, and training . As productive hands on owners I did all aspects of the business over the last 16 years which was cooking, waiting on tables, serving drinks,cleaning, bartending and I received my certificate from our health department on sanitation specs and requirements for Michigan.

I was store manager for Fashion Bug in Sturgis Michigan, for seven years prior to the purchase of HILLCREST. The last two years at Fashion Bug I was promoted to Training Manager. My duties were to travel from store to store in southern Michigan to do audits, to find theft issues, and to report all policies that were not being followed to home office. My store was one of the top stores for visual merchandising, sales increases, and store cleanliness.

Five years prior to being emplyed by Fashion Bug, I was in restaurant management. I was service manager of Chi Chi's in Kalamazoo Michigan for about 5 years. I left on good terms, giving notice, to move back to Sturgis, Michigan which was is husbands home town.

Over the years I have truly learned that making a customer happy, is the answer to being successful, and being a kind person and having a sense of humor is what makes every customer feel important. Return business is what it's all about! A professional person with manners and quality service and merchandise is what prompts people to go back to a restaurant, retail store, or any other place. People will shop where they are treated with respect. I truly believe that my husband and I have stayed in business so long because of our morals and ethics.

I am seeking new employment because I simply need a change from running my own business as we will be selling this business in the near future. I am a team player and I also can work on my own to get the job done. I am friendly, outgoing, personable, and have high standards. I will work nights, days, weekends, holidays, part time or full time. I am a fast learner, I am very good with people, and I am very honest.
