RESEARCH INTERESTS:
(1) AFM studies of biomacromolecules behaviors on the interface, including the adsorption and self-assembly of
biomacromolecules on liquid/solid interface;
(2) Raman spectrum, including mechanism and application in biomacromolecules detection;
(3) Synthesis of metal fluorescence clusters and their application in detection;
(4) Functionalization of metal nanoparticles, and their applications in biological detection;
(5) DNA methylation detection and DNA methylation related proteins.

(1) Synthesized a novel fluorescent silver cluster via protein-directed approach and its applications in mercury (II)
ion detection.
(2) Improved the properties of graphene oxide through modification with different molecules; studied their effects on
mammalian cell.
(3) Functionalized gold nanoparticles with Raman tag and protein for DNA methylation detection.

(1) Prepared the surface relevant regulable DNA toroids; studied the behavior of DNA-dopamine complex in solution
and on the liquid-solid interface.
(2) Researched the low temperature induced disassembly of the filaments consisting of DNA and RecA recombinase
on the mica surface.
(3) Investigated the influence of cationic polyelectrolyte (i.e., poly-L-lysine) on the filaments formation of RecA
1
recombinase on the DNA to understand the reaction mechanism.
(4) Constructed a hydrogen peroxide biosensor by immobilizing HRP in room temperature ionic liquid doped DNA
network.

Instruments: Atomic force microscopy (imaging under air or in liquid; Veeco Nanoscope IIIa and Bio-Scope AFM,
Asylum Research 3-D AFM), Confocal Raman microscopy (Renishaw 2000, Bruker), Fluorescence spectroscopy,
UV-vis spectroscopy, circular dichroism spectroscopy, Various electrochemistry methods, Gel electrophoresis, SEM,
TEM;
Techniques: Cell culture (mammalian), Gold Nanoparticles synthesis and modification, synthesis of Au and Ag
clusters, graphene oxide fabrication by chemical method.
