Works in Progress and Research Experience
Manuscript. Forgiveness in International Relations. Much literature on forgiveness for nation-states examines domestic conflicts such as South Africa. This manuscript pushes the literature to look at the relevance of forgiveness in truly inter-state cases and offers case studies including the US and Nicaragua and the US and Vietnam.
Research Assistant. Human Rights NGOs Survey Project. Project Director, George Lopez. Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies and Department of Government and International Studies, University of Notre Dame, Fall 1995-Summer 1996. Assisted in a survey of international human rights NGOs, identifying the population to be surveyed and revising the survey instrument.
Research and Internship in Third World Development. Human Needs and Global Resources Program, Wheaton College, May-December 1992. Worked with Nicaraguan development agency CEPAD while researching and documenting the work of regional peace commissions operating in Nicaraguan conflict zones. My independent study involved participant observation of mediation, interviews with over 40 persons involved in the peace process, and documentary analysis.
