Technical Abilities
Pottery/Ceramics: Experience processing local, earthen clays, commercial clays, and wood
ashes. Working knowledge of glaze and clay testing, and traditional
Japanese pottery techniques of hump throwing and coil building.
Kilns: Kiln design, construction, and deconstruction. Experience loading and
firing numerous types of kilns, including wood, gas, salt/soda, electric,
raku, and pit fired kilns
Tools: Practice with various power tools and machinery relating to masonry,
woodworking, and wood processing.
