Skills
I have skills in so many areas but mostly cocktail waitressing for the past 12 years. I have learned how be a bartender and pull tab host. Customer service is something that I enjoy doing and have the most experience. I also have done a lot of office work on computers, data entry, filing, phones, copy and fax. Handling and counting money is very natural to me, check cashing, western union are also strong points in my work history. I did a 9 month internship with MDC in a homeless housing program were I helped families get housing, learn family values and morals, and look for work or helped clients get into school. This internship is we're a lot of my office skills increased because I revised programs and paper work, client case management, propels, funding, and so much more. I own my own business in Hair Extensions and I am working on my plan to start my own hair salon in the near future.
Currently at Evergreen State College I am learning about how to do proper research for propels. Each quarter I am in a new group project were I have learned the proper methods to research and have found funding for each project. With a goal of working in housing, DSHS or SSI office in the future. I am learning more each day about environmental health and society that has opened my eyes to new ways of problem solving and critical thinking. The classes are about toxic chemicals, food, water and I have done research on foster youth, sex education, aging women, water systems for countries with no water, NW history, toxic chemicals in the public school system, and fast food. I am able to be given a task and finish it with out difficulties. Work well in a group or on a team. My long term goal is to become a professor at a college. Learning how do a multi media project and editing with proper filming is just a start for my next year in college.
