Experience Research Assistant (8/98 - present)
Professors David Maidment and Randall Charbeneau, University of Texas at Austin
Thesis project focuses on designing a Visual Basic interface between a MODFLOW
groundwater model and a Geographic Information System/ Excel surface water model.
Goal of research is to determine the optimum time step length for modeling the
groundwater recharge into the river.
Research Assistant (5/99 - 8/99)
Professor David Maidment, University of Texas at Austin
Involved in Water Availability Modeling (WAM) of Neches Basin, TX. Calculated
watershed parameters for approximately 300 control points (i.e. diversion points, return
flows, etc.) on the river network. Processed and manipulated 30 m. Digital Elevation
Model (DEM) data in Arc/Info 7.2 and ArcView 3.1.
Staff Engineer (2/98 - 7/98)
SOMA Environmental Engineering, San Ramon, CA.
Wrote and edited risk assessment reports on groundwater remediation. Modeled
contaminant transport in groundwater using MT3D and MODFLOW with GMS
interface. Facilitated groundwater well permitting process.
Research Assistant (1/97 - 5/97)
Professor James Hunt, University of California at Berkeley
Participated in remediation of the Alameda Naval Air Station. Determined the water
flowrate below contaminated sites by reassessing the hydraulic conductivity from a
multitude of reports.
Research Assistant (5/96 - 8/96)
Professor William Nazaroff, University of California at Berkeley
Designed FORTRAN program to solve 1-dimensional diffusion/sedimentation problem.
Engineering Assistant (9/95 - 12/95)
OGISO Environmental, Oakland, CA.
Produced maps, graphs and layouts for site remediation reports.
Activities High School Outreach Co-Chair, Society of Women Engineers (9/95 - 5/96)
Organized and participated in an effort to introduce engineering to over 1,000 San
Francisco Bay Area high school students.
Skills MODFLOW, GMS, GIS (Arc/Info, ArcView), FORTRAN, Pascal, Visual Basic
