Objective: Seeking a Product Design / Manufacturing / Supply Chain position as Project Manager / Director /

Team Coordinator IP Portfolio Manager Transition Manager requiring strong technical,

project management and supply chain development skills. Strong interest in technical problem

solving, and development of successful manufacturing processes and procedures to build products,

within cost and schedule constraints.

Summary: Over thirty five years of experience in engineering design, product manufacturing and business

development with a demonstrated track record of accomplishment. Able to think outside the

box, has a whatever it takes attitude to resolving practical problems and ensuring that key

project deliverables are completed on time, within budget and according to customers

specifications.

Proven ability to lead a team of professionals, including assignment and coordination of work

activities, technical design, personnel development and management activities, and raise the level

of technical and business staff on the team. Demonstrated ability to liaise between Product

Development and Marketing staff. Ability to coordinate technical successes with intellectual

property business protections through admittance to prepare and prosecute patent applications

before the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) as a registered Patent Agent.

Broad based and successful Technical and Management experience in Electronic, Electro-ceramic

and Electro-Mechanical systems in both very large corporations (General Dynamics) and very

small companies (Composite Specialties, Inc.). Participated at the corporate level, developing

strategy pertaining to project and product development, and building teams to carry out said

strategy. Designed and manufactured over a hundred products utilizing circuit design,

electromechanical controls and/or electro-optics; many of these product lines grossed over a

million dollars each, including several with Dr. Martin s patented infrared sensor. Valuable

experience in leading hardware design, specification, test method, failure diagnosis, yield analysis,

and corrective action identification efforts.

- 2006: Ultrafast Nanostructured Hydrogen Sensor (Argonne National Lab, Makel

Engineering)

- 2011: CermaClad (MesoCoat and Oak Ridge National Lab)

. Led the development of Ohio s Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Infrastructure technology cluster.

- Developed and sponsored forty-four projects with Ohio companies

. Participated in the State of Ohio Third Frontier Program in over thirty projects

. Participated in the preparation and execution of over forty successful proposals requiring

collaboration with multiple industrial partners valued at over $100M, including Principal

Investigator on eight collaborative projects valued at $21.6M

. Coordinated and hosted multiple seminars on fuel cells and patent law.

. GaAs hyper-abrupt varactor diode failure analysis and process development. Successful

technology transfer for multiple sources at dramatically improved yield and reduced cost.

. Thin- vs thick-film resistor array production yield improvement and cost reduction.

. Guidance and Autopilot System yield improvement through root cause failure diagnosis, leading

to design, test and assembly corrective action identification.

. VHSIC applications and CMOS standard cell in-house IC design. Included 20 year strategic plan

modification to hire a 12-person design team. First 15 designs were first pass successes!

. Data telemetry instrumentation and horizontal integration of propulsion test vehicle. Overcame

a 4-month schedule slip in three months.

. Oversaw 28 engineers on three shifts trying to build a dozen IR guided bombs. We hit 7 for 7 at a

NAVY flight test!
