Redefined and developed all responsible functions to improve response time in close alignment with company operational, acquisition and growth strategies.

* Determined annual operating, capital equipment and facilities budgets; developed short and long term operations strategies in response to technological and business changes. Trimmed operational expenses an average of 10% while the growth rate of the company increased an average of 20% annually. Implemented a comprehensive capacity planning system for operation of manufacturing sites in New York and Mexico. Successfully integrated six acquisitions in four years.

* Created and developed the Manufacturing Engineering function. Directed support of manufacturing activities including staffing, tooling, facilities, hazardous waste control, work standards and facilities layout.

* Implemented automated processes for printed circuit board assembly and test as well as for material handling and storage. Justified and installed the first automated through-hole and SMT assembly production lines utilizing Universal and Fuji equipment.

* Optimized space limitations for expanding manufacturing processes, including three expansions in seven years from 10,000 square feet to more than 92,000 square feet. Performed comprehensive analysis to determine five year facilities requirements through capacity modeling.

* Served as primary liaison between Engineering and Operations for product designs; instituted design for assembly (DFA) techniques for new product designs reducing PCB assembly throughput, mechanical fastening and driving the snap fit designs for plastic parts from Engineering. Designed the present flexible coil cord used in all scanners improving MTBF from two weeks to five years.
