Job Summary:

Provide effective guidance to program clinical and site staff for successful administrative, financial and clinical management of HIV/AIDS/TB/Malaria in treatment and prevention. Partake in national support in care and support/Orphans and Vulnerable Children, decentralization of antiretroviral therapy, partaking in the meeting of the National ART Committee. Provide training to site coordinators and others in pharmacy, laboratory, data management, and counseling in HIV/AIDS, Tb, other opportunistic infections, and malaria.

I partook in stakeholders meetings to improve services at sites and states. I also acted as the link between the technical team in Nigeria and the team in Harvard. I was responsible for the coordination of the overall clinical services of the program. I represented Harvard and APIN on many task teams, including the National Antiretroviral Therapy Committee, the decentralization Committee, Antiretroviral drug resistance and the USG technical working groups.

Job Summary:

To direct and guide on clinical care of HIV-infected patients at over 40 clinical sites including teaching hospitals, research institutes, tertiary hospitals, secondary hospitals and primary care centers in Nigeria. In this role I built capacity and infrastructure at our collaborating sites to be able to provide, scale-up and sustain provision of antiretroviral treatment (ART), management of opportunistic infections, Tuberculosis and malaria to patients in need. I coordinated the developing of standardized protocols for clinical management, laboratory testing and pharmacy handling by the program. I was part of the team that responded to RFPs/RFAS.

Computerized data entry of clinical, laboratory and pharmacy records was also developed and implemented to allow for monitoring of the progress electronically at the sites. Clinical and laboratory protocols for ART provision and management which conformed to an optimized standard of care consistent with national and international standards were developed through my efforts. I was also able to give administrative oversight to the sites as well as supervise central administrative, finance and clinical staff.

Job Summary:

My roles included ensuring increased awareness and commitment from policy makers at all levels, including Federal, State and Local governments, to ensure support national specific and routine immunization. I supervised Central facilitators, state supervisors, local government immunization a staff, and district staff to enhance immunization coverage in the states of Abia, Akwa Ibom, Cross River State, Rivers, Niger, Delta, Edo, Sokoto, Kano and Plateau. I was able to be part of the team that developed advocacy plans by various stakeholder groups, and identified civil and public service, political, media, civil society, and other relevant sectors to advocate for the immunization program. In this role we were able to include immunization as a priority in on-going health and related government programs. This ensured increased allocation of resources for immunization at state and local government levels.

My role was also to strengthen partnerships committed to supporting and encouraging demand for immunization services.
