DISSERTATION
How Institutional and University Counseling Policies Effectively Respond to Cyber Violent Acts: A Multisite Case Study, submitted June 06, 2012.
The multisite qualitative case study compared the selected institutions` and counseling policies against the interviews of the Counseling Directors and Counselors assigned to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) student community. The study found members of the LGBT community used cyberspace to identify clandestine LGBT members. The "outed" community member experienced psychological stressors and in some cases physical trauma including attempted suicide that ultimately resulted in one or both LGBT members to leave the campus.
