OBJECTIVE:

An administrative support position within a challenging work environment where I can contribute a detail-oriented, conscientious work ethic, a solid base of software skills, and a friendly determination to do what it takes to get the job done.

BACKGROUND SUMMARY:

Fresh from several years devoted to designing and producing multimedia Powerpoint presentations for corporate clients in the field of marketing, I`m also professionally trained and experienced in executive secretarial and administrative assistant skills. I bring an additional skill set from a prior career path as a trade journal editor, community newspaper copy editor, and professional freelance proofreader.

ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT SKILLS:

* Advanced Microsoft Office (Powerpoint, Excel, Word, Outlook) on PC and Mac, intermediate Photoshop, Quicktime, Acrobat, and other software skills

* General graphic design skills, including forms and brochure design

* Verbal and written communication skills, such as correspondence drafting, copy writing and editing, and expert proofreading

* Over 100 WPM typing speed, and reliably accurate transcription, including legal (Patent Law) and technical transcription

* Expertise in a wide range of executive support, secretarial, and other office service skills

EMPLOYMENT:

Nov 1994 - Mar 2012: D.L. RYAN COMPANIES, LTD., Wilton, CT

During 17 years with this marketing services corporation primarily serving major U.S. consumer packaged goods companies, there were two support-related career paths: 1) Administrative Assistant, and 2) A position specializing in presentation design and production

Mar 2000 - Mar 2012: D.L. Ryan, Presentation Dept. Team Member

One of a five-member team responsible for Powerpoint presentations for the corporation itself and for clients` national sales team presentation support. Team directly supported the headquarters in Wilton, CT and, remotely, its several subsidiaries across the US.

* Detailed, highly confidential, fast-turnaround projects utilized the entire Microsoft Office software suite, Photoshop and other software

* Coordinating with executives, promotion managers, design team members and others, worked to translate the presenters` content and vision into technically sound, dynamic, and engaging multimedia presentations geared to gain new business, as well as to plan and carry out existing client programs

* Designed custom, visually appealing Powerpoint template blanks for presentations, featuring the client`s image assets, stock photography (often sourced by our team), and other professional graphics. Coordinated, culled together and formatted all contributed sections, and revised on demand as needed, up to deadline time

* Incorporated animation, video and sound, as well as transitions, builds and hyperlinks

* Created self-launching, self-running, entertaining -loop- presentations with timed slide advancing and audio, designed for use as corporate client event invitations

* Also responsible for setting up and uploading the company`s response entries into copy-intensive online RFPs (Requests for Proposal) for major contract invitations to bid

Accomplishments:

* Over several years was assigned to work primarily independently as the Team`s point person on site at the Westport, CT based Catapult Marketing subdivision

* In 2010, presented with one of Catapult`s annual -Rising Star- awards, citing exceptional efforts as an operator supporting some of Catapult`s major new business wins that year

* Earned reputation as the -Excel guru- in the presentation team, taking a keen interest in troubleshooting spreadsheet setup, and especially design issues, within Excel

Nov 1994 - Mar 2000: Administrative Assistant

* Supporting up to six assigned corporate executives simultaneously, acted as a central administrative hub for their needs in presentation and meeting preparation, travel arrangements, answering phones, maintaining schedules and files, distributing mail, handling correspondence, general communication liaison, and project file trafficking between company departments.

* Designed and produced all presentation materials for onscreen presentation and for printed distribution, built and maintained Excel-based budget spreadsheets, and complex, Excel-based annual promotion tracking calendars, updated monthly. Also handled all general correspondence, billing, meeting scheduling, travel arrangements, meeting room scheduling and setup, answering phones, handling mail and faxes, maintaining files, and general liaison

Accomplishments:

* V.A.S.E. Award winner, given for -Value Added Service Excellence- over a given year, as voted in a company-wide annual poll

Sep 1991 - Nov 1994: GLENDINNING CORPORATION, Fairfield, CT

Executive Assistant:

* Carried out full executive secretarial duties to several top-tier corporate officers in this marketing services company.

* Researched changing PC technology and prepared detailed Recommendation Report for upper management review, resulting in companywide changeover to much-needed, upgraded computer software and hardware, and at the most competitive, researched prices.

Marketing Services Program Manager:

As the company downsized greatly in a short time period, I was additionally given opportunity (and a byline and title) to perform some promotional copy writing, copy editing, proofreading and design assistance for certain projects, due to my on-the-job learning during prior career experience in Trade Publishing, and my demonstrated interest. Projects included researching and writing articles for Bausch & Lomb`s -Solutions- direct mail mini-magazine, with subjects including Bausch & Lomb`s official U.S. Olympics sponsorship, and special interest feature stories related to vision and eye health.
