Employment History
Diageo, Nationwide
Spokes Model/ MOD, Nationwide 2008 - current
• Act as a representative for various spirit brands such as Guinness and Cuervo Silver at local accounts Nationwide as well as the MOD for each account and hired crew. My primary job is to inform our consumers about the product at each account as well as to promote safe and responsible drinking. I use my smile and knowledge base to create an informative & friendly repore with patrons at local clubs and bars. In this field I have the pleasure of taking pictures (which aid in the visual promotion of responsible drinking) and educating clientele on how to make healthy choices when consuming alcoholic beverages. For example understanding the relation between ones BMI, time elapsed & the type of alcoholic beverage consumed & how each of these effect ones BAC & ability to make responsible choices. Each account includes the following responsibilities: Fostering and promoting a cooperative working climate for maximizing productivity and employee morale; ensuring that all requirements of Diageo were met by each respective account & the place of promotion (i.e. bar, night club, venue, company) was cut a check on the spot to show the immediate reward of working with Diageo & to ensure future business endeavors. Assisting in training of new spokes model/sampler staff and continual education of existing staff to ensure the highest level of prompting at each account possible. Organizing coordinating and directing staff in the set-up and breakdown of each account (Uniforms, Posters, T-shirts, Samples, Locations etc.) Providing feedback on concerns and issues to Area Manager in a timely manner. (i.e. Competing Promotions, lack of promoting materials, spokes models no-call no showing for accounts etc.)
United States Armed Services (Army),Ft.Jackson, SC
56M Chaplain Assistant, 2004-2007
• Oversaw a full program of religious ministries, including workshops, counseling sessions, religious education and special events. Assisted the Chaplain with basic office tasks such as: answering incoming calls, scheduling appointments, updating and maintaining confidential records and creating power point presentations to show the services that were being used by soldiers in training. Counseled soldiers & their families when the Chaplain was unavailable; be it by assessing the level of risk of a suicidal SIT & allocating the preventative actions needed to maintain the safety & overall well being of the at risk soldier or providing a variety of resources for a married couple experiencing the harsh reality of "Army Life" & the strain it can put on a soldiers relationship with their spouse & children. Facilitated and managed cash offerings during service, counting, documenting, safeguarding and depositing. In a non-combat zone responsibilities included visiting soldiers during training and boosting the general moral, protecting the soldiers right to practice his or her chosen religion & supplying soldiers with religious materials on a needs basis & organizing & setting up in-the-field services provided by the Chaplain in all types of weather. Setting up cleaning crews to maintain the cleanliness of my assigned Chapel on post and by doing so maintaining & being accountable for all soldiers(10-150); marching and or driving soldiers back to their company after work was complete. In a combat zone responsibilities as far as moral go are very similar, however in combat zone the Chaplains' physical safety now becomes my responsibility as he/she does not carry arms. Being a Chaplain Assistant is a very interesting field, as one must be able to do a variety of duties, be it banking, landscaping, counseling, being a body-guard for the Chaplain or boosting the morale of a soldier in the field, in training or in combat.
Blue Green Vacations, Acme, MI
Customer Service Representative, 2003-2004
• Successfully maintained phones, computer tasks, financially assessing & qualifying clientele in accordance with the companies requirements & closing sales. Responsibilities included: training staff on the psychology behind sales by teaching techniques such as matching & or setting the tone of the conversation with the customer, maintaining direction of the call without the need for aggressive or high pressure tactics by creating value, ownership & urgency as well as instilling in the trainee the level of importance in understanding that "No" shouldn't be a feared response but rather a welcomed one as it is one step closer to a "Yes", in sales it typically takes three "No's" before achieving or reaching one "Yes" often times the new trainee or inexperienced sales representative will give up on the first "No" & miss out on the success that they would have achieved if only they had faced the fear of being told "No" & maintained the innovative & entrepreneurial spirit that is needed to achieve the mission at hand. One of my favorite stories that I used as a teaching tool was about two salesmen both selling shoes in a new & uncharted territory; the first salesman wrote home & said "Well this was a terrible idea, no one wears shoes here this is terrible I'm coming home." the second salesman writes home & says "This is great! No one wears shoes here, I'll be home after I finish selling shoes to everyone on the island!"I also successfully used my resourceful & innovative knowledge base to create and close vacation sales nationwide & internationally for a variety of individuals & families, greeted visitors, conducted tours as needed, provided basic information to visitors and assisted in opening and closing procedures at the facility.
