Petroleum Chemist

Combined premix and marine fuel using petroleum and oil. Conducted waste water treatment employing API oil/water separator, corrugated plate interceptor, and chemical coagulant (alum). Oversaw a team of production technicians. Managed mixing and recycling of petroleum products requiring transfer between storage tanks. Devised stock solution and standards for the AAS. Ensured proper transition of processed petroleum products from crude distillation and residual catalytic cracking units into tanks and crude oil brands from harbor dock into storage tanks. Analyzed plant, water, and soil samples to determine trace metals using solid sample acid digestion and the AAS.

Propelled a 93% increase in octane rating of gasoline by adding methyl cyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl and ethylated gasoline product using red and green dyes.

Oversaw the implementation of a new monitoring system for checking crude oil storage tanks, reducing required storage time by one third and significantly lowering product spillage.
