Becoming a cantor is the fulfillment of my lifelong dream. I feel incredibly blessed to be in a
profession where I have the ability to positively affect the lives of people of all ages. I hope to always
have the chance to inspire our people to love and connect to Judaism through prayer, education, and
the beautiful music of our tradition.
CANTORIAL EXPERIENCE
2006-present Cantor, Sinai Temple, Los Angeles, CA
Liturgical
Led Shabbat and holiday services of all styles, including traditional services, contemporary
services with guitar and band, services with organ and choir, Shabbat in the Park (preschool age),
Shabbat at Home (young professional age), and STARS Shabbat (school age) services
Officiated at life cycle events
Read Torah regularly and Megillat Esther on Purim
Coordinated student participation in Shabbat and holiday services
Created master recordings of all Torah and Haftarah readings
Increased participation of teen and adult Torah readers
Brought Web Parasha to Sinai an online system where congregants can sign up to read Torah
Created the Second B nai Mitzvah program to celebrate congregants coming of age at 83
Created Shabbat Musaf transliteration booklet, edited Mount Sinai Shiva books
Educational
Created and implemented a system of teaching trope involving color coordination, hand symbols,
and singing in order to teach students the skills of reading Torah and Haftarah
Taught trope and tefillah in the day school to 4th-6th grades
Taught trope and tefillah in the religious school to 4th-7th grades
Supervised Religious School music, taught music to grades K-7, coordinated musical events
Prepared over 500 students for b nai mitzvah through group and individual training
Revamped and taught the Confirmation class for our teens
Created and taught an Intro to Yiddish course, created a Yiddish Club
Taught various Adult Education classes
Created STARS Players a program in which students who play instruments learn to accompany
prayers
Created an Advanced Torah Reading Workshop to encourage students to read Torah after their
b nai mitzvah
Musical
Created a children s choir that sings at synagogue services and community events
Created a community theater
Produced, fundraised, directed, and appeared in two large scale musicals for Yom HaShoah
Participated in synagogue concerts as well as various community, national, and international
concerts
Performed regularly for Caf Europa (survivor group), Children Survivors of the Holocaust,
Westwood Horizons, Israel Bonds, and other charitable organizations
Prepared sisterhood members for Sisterhood Shabbat and for the Sisterhood Mincha Choir
Participated in yearly Sisterhood Retreat
