Manager Telecommunications
Managed a functional budget of $2 million and supervised up to 4 technicians. Responsibilities included: support for all VSAT, voice, data, VoIP communications, Avaya PBX's, video and voice mail systems. Managed monitoring of environmental support systems for corporate data centers and related service contracts.
Coordinated and assisted with the design of a global WAN, LAN, VoIP and voice network architecture, project management, integration, optimization, and installation which ensured that all voice calls were routed across the company's global private MPLS network in the most efficient manner. All off-net calls are routed to the closest company location across the network before going off-net. This comprehensive approach did not previously exist and increased efficiency.
Responsible for the management of corporate cell phone contract which consisted of 1100 + phones. Consolidated multiple cell phone contracts into a single contract resulting in a saving of over $ 1 million annually.
Provided support and coordination for globally dispersed WAN, LAN, VoIP installations including field locations and off-shore rigs which resulted in significant annual savings.
Assisted in the development of the Corporate Disaster Recovery project which ensured minimal interruption to voice and data service in case of disasters.
Reduced communications service contracts 5% - 10% per year by integrating voice and data, and setting communications hardware standards for all local/wide area networks, both domestically and internationally.
Initiated a competitive bidding environment for negotiating worldwide satellite (VSAT) contract which is estimated to save $20 million over a 5 year contract period.
Assisted management with the development of Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) processes and procedures. Provided documentation to internal auditors as required.
Budgeted and designed vendor selection process and implemented Voice-Over WAN project resulting in significant annual cost savings.
Negotiated annual local and long distance contracts resulting in more than $ 200,000 annual savings.
Managed $6 million WAN services contract and advised management of progress and actual costs to projected costs. This initiative reduced cost 10-15% per year over four-year period.
Worked with both operations, engineering and internal IT groups to develop LAN cabling, VSAT, and PBX specifications, assisted in vendor selection for installation of hardware for both domestic and international rigs and offices. Served as the project manager for installations which were completed on time and within targeted budget.
Designed, performed vendor selection and managed corporate office Avaya PBX's, Cisco data switches, and wiring installation, including Park 10 data center and other regional offices.
Collaborated with Corporate and regional IT managers on installation of IP based call accounting system worldwide which achieved standardization throughout the company, providing management with accurate monthly call accounting reports.
Budgeted, designed, and managed construction of two corporate data centers (approximately 6,000 square feet) within budget of $1.5 million and completed the project on time.

Developed, wrote, and implemented PBX, LAN, and WAN standards for all regional offices, including the management of long distance calling cards, pagers, and cell phones which made the communications process more reliable and efficient.
Managed and trained one local technician and two remote office technicians, building a team that was effective and worked together to achieve objectives.

Network Analyst
Member of a four-person team responsible for maintaining a 1500 node network, installation of a T-1 network that spanned three locations, including a 100-150-call-per-day support center. Supported all communications hardware (CRT controllers, modems, circuits, and printers).

Supervisor of Voice/Data Communications
Planned and oversaw all Avaya telephone systems in more than 650 stores nationwide and Puerto Rico.
Coordinated and managed all telephone system installations including vendor selection, local service ordering, and support after the installation, and new store planning as it related to communications.
Reviewed blueprints for all new and remodeled stores ensuring all specifications were properly reflected in the blueprints.
