Police Cadet

As a Fort Worth Police Cadet I was initially assigned to the Police Training Division. At the Training Division I was tasked with multiple varied responsibilities at training headquarters: I provided competent desk officer service to the general public and any officers that required assistance with in-service training, compiled spreadsheets for training classes, assisted instructors with their daily classroom activities, handled administrative duties for staff, maintained all academy assigned vehicles, transported payroll to Police Headquarters, prepared for group functions and meetings held at the Police Training Center.

In the field, I exceeded the requirement of a once-a-month ride out with an officer as I accompanied officers on rides at the rate of one per week. After the completion of my sixth month rotation at the academy, I was transferred to the Police Property Room. I was initially hired as an Animal Technician; I worked at this position for approximately 3 months and was promoted to Animal Services Officer.
