requirements of the national competition among other participants.
2006 Computer Based Oscilloscope
Creating the hardware components of a simple oscilloscope, writing an assembly
program for displaying signal voltages on the computer screen using printer port.
2007 Licence Plate Recognition (LPR)
Recognizing the license plate of the cars that is entering a parking lot and saving it
to a database using MATLAB.
2007 Simple CPU Design and Implementation
Using MIPS architecture and instruction set, coding a simple CPU using Xilinx and
Modelsim, where verilog is the main language. It is then implemented on FPGA board.
2007 Business Plan of a Coffee Shop
In a group of three, writing a detailed business plan for a coffee shop to convince
the bank to get the loan.
2006-2007 Senior Project Construncting RoofNet Like Mesh Network
Implementing open source mesh network applications, specifically MIT s roofnet
project, constructing a similar mesh network on campus. Trying different routing
algorithms on Linux based nodes, finding the most efficient system for streaming real
time video.
2007 Accoustic Echo Cancellation
For VoIP applications, coding a filter in Matlab (acts as a linear equalizer) that can
eliminate the echo caused by hands-free communication as well as environment (room
reverb).
2008 Pelmanism Embedded Systems Design Term Project
Using Altera DE2 board, implementing an interactive picture based memory game. C
is used for software development and VHDL for hardware development.
2008 Directional Antennas MiMo Simulation
Researching directional antennas focusing on load balancing routing and
directional MAC solutions. Also simulating its performance using MATLAB to test its
proposed gains.
2008 Text Mining for Predicting Stock Prices
Using Weka (machine learning package) and Java, developing AI models to predict
stock prices by classifying news articles as well as comparing the performances of
different machine learning algorithms.
