PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY
RAMI M. LOULOU
EDUCATION:
B.S
., Chemical Engineering University Of Wisconsin, Madison ( 05/1994
)
SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE:
Four years of experience in process, petrochemical and refinery
industries specializing in design, simulation, process engineering,
start-up and commissioning. Background includes projects in several
refinery units, revamp and retrofit projects, process study, technical
service troubleshooting, and utility systems.
FLUOR DANIEL INC
. ( 1996-PRESENT )
PROCESS ENGINEER
Light Oil Conversion Project AERA TECHNOLOGIES
( 3/98 - 5/98
) South
Belridge Oil Field, California
As a process engineer, studied the feasibility of reusing the existing
piping and equipment in the oil field for an expansion/conversion
project to process lighter crude and increase the current capacity of
200 KBPD to 400 KBPD. Recommended changing the high and low pressure
vapor recovery system and designed a new one, specified new pumps for
the increased capacity, checked the hydraulics of the system, sized
new PSVs for the water knock out drums and did a preliminary scoping
study of a new relief header.
Miscellaneous Refinery Upgrade/New Projects. Texaco Refining &
Marketing Inc.
( 6/97 - present ) Bakersfield, California
On-site Process Engineer working on several projects including:
Upgrade Of Mild Hydrocracker's Reactor Coolers Project.
Developed new equipment process specifications, control valves and
instrument data sheets, checked pipelines hydraulics, updated the
PFD'S and P&ID'S for the unit.
Mild Hydrocracker Capacity Increase Project.
Developed computer simulation, equipment and instrument data sheets.
Performed pipeline hydraulic studies, and updated PFD'S and P & ID'S.
checked existing relief valves adequacy for the increased capacity to
the unit from 17,000 to 20,000 BPD.

Relief Load Study
Performed relief load analysis for several ( ~ 40 PSVs ) existing PSVs
to check their adequacy for a Crude Distillation unit increased
capacity project from 63,000 to 70,000 BPD. Supervised one engineer.
Also performed PSVs capacity check for a Sulfur Recovery Unit and a
Tail Gas Treating Unit for design rates of 70 LTPD and 100 LTPD
respectively.
New Steam Boiler ( 70,000 Lb/Hr, 300 Psig Steam Production )
Performed process calculations and developed P & ID's for the boiler.
Specified LoNox burner, control valves, PSVs and instruments.
Reformer Unit Nox Reduction Project
Compiled all relevant data for the fired heaters ( five total ) in the
Reformer unit and specified process and utility conditions for new
LoNox burners.
HAZOP Evaluation And Engineering
Studied and recommended solutions to more than fifty HAZOP items for a
light end/LPG plant. With client's approval, engineered the
recommendations to close the HAZOP concerns.
Vapor Recovery System Upgrade
As a Lead Process Engineer, studied and recommended the installation
of a new larger condensate knock out drum on the suction line to the
vapor recovery system compressor to stop liquid carry over to the
compressor. Developed detail engineering package to implement the
recommendation.
Sour Oil Skim Drum Installation Project.
As a Lead Process Engineer, studied the Oily Sour Water system,
recommended adding a new sour oil skim drum to improve skimming and
developed detail engineering package to implement the recommendation.
Coke Drums Steam Vents Routing
.
As as a Lead Process Engineer, performed conceptual evaluation to
eliminate the emission of hydrocarbons to atmosphere during coke drum
venting. Recommended rerouting the steam vent lines to an atmospheric
water sealed drum at grade to knock out the heavy hydrocarbons from
the steam and send the contaminated water to a treating unit.
Developed detail engineering package to implement the recommendation.

FCC & Alkyation Units Debottenecking Projects ARCO Refinery
( 2/97 -
6/97
) Carson, California
On-site process engineer assigned to develop process simulations,
equipment and instrument data sheets, pipeline hydraulic studies,
update PFD's and P & ID's, and check relief valves capacity for Fluid
Catalytic Cracking & Alkylation units capacity increase projects. Also
performed scoping study of rundown piping from FCC unit to tankage.
FEED Package - PUERTO LA CRUZ REFINERY CORPOVEN
( 10/96 - 2/97 )
VENEZUELA
Assigned to home-office engineering team. Updated Front End
Engineering Design package for a new Sulfur Recovery plant, performed
utility balances and updated utility flow diagrams for several
refinery units.
TECHNIP CORPORATION
( 02/1996 - 09/1996 )
On Shore Gas Development Project Abu Dhabi National Oil Company United
Arab Emirates
On-site process engineer assigned to the pre-commissioning and
commissioning team to assist in starting up three new 18 Million
SCF/HR gas plants.
As a process engineer supervised 10 employees performing
pre-commissioning activities on pipelines and vessels including
cleaning with air, steam blowing, chemical treating, drying with air,
sealing, purging and inerting with nitrogen. The start-up activities
included supervising the gradual pressure build up in the system,
checking flanges for leaks, instrument readings and safely
commissioning the system.
CONSOLIDATED CONTRACTORS INTERNATIONAL CO
. ( 08/1994 - 01/1996 )
PROCESS/CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER
On Shore Gas Development Project Abu Dhabi National Oil Company United
Arab Emirates
On-site process engineer. Developed control valves and instrument data
sheets, new equipment process specifications, process flow diagrams,
piping and instrument diagrams, utility flow diagrams, checked
pipelines hydraulics, and pressure relief valves capacities.
As a construction engineer, supervised 12 employees performing various
tasks including the installation of new piping spools, valves,
supports, and pressure-testing of new pipe lines. Checked isometric
drawings and cleared punch list items.
