Dear Editor,

I would like to take this opportunity to recommend Nancy Destiny for a journalism

position. I think she would make an excellent candidate for this position.

I recently had the pleasure of teaching Nancy in my JOU Travel Writing course at SUNY

Plattsburgh. I will also teach Nancy once again starting in January in a Magazine Writing class.

Nancy possesses a natural curiosity about the world around her. She s quite eager to

learn. Her strengths include generating story ideas, obtaining excellent sources for her stories,

interviewing, positively receiving constructive criticism, and applying the critique to improve her

work.

In addition, since I teach Nancy once again in the near future, I will be able to mentor her

throughout the upcoming semester to ensure her internship experience is a positive one.

There s no question in my mind that Nancy would benefit from this real world

experience. Moreover, you would be very lucky to have her.
