Dr. Scott Cheatham
Dr. Scott Cheatham has been in the health and fitness industry for the past 20 years. He is owner of the National Institute of Restorative Exercise, Inc. where he provides continuing education to medical and fitness professionals. Dr. Cheatham is on faculty in the Division of Kinesiology and Recreation at California State University Dominguez Hills. He is a national presenter for various organizations and has authored several textbook chapters and articles on the topics of orthopedics, health & fitness, and sports medicine.
Dr. Cheatham's is a practicing Physical Therapist with a specialty in orthopedics and sports medicine. Along with his clinical practice, he continues to consult with major health & fitness organizations such as Equinox Fitness Clubs, American Council on Exercise, and Fitness Anywhere (TRX).
Dr. Cheatham received his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Chapman University and is also a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopedics (OCS) and a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC). He holds the NSCA-CSCS, NASM-PES, NASM-CES, NSCA-CPT, Kettlebell (Level 1), FMS (Level I), and USAW Club Coach certifications. Dr. Cheatham is currently pursuing his PhD in Physical Therapy.
Dr. Cheatham's professional responsibilities include being an associate editor for the International Journal of Athletic Therapy & Training and a manuscript reviewer for the Journal of Athletic Training, Athletic Training and Sports Health Care, International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy, NSCA's Strength & Conditioning Journal, and NSCA's Performance Training Journal.
