I have a passion for science and teaching that has led me to be involved in scientific research and people relations. Science affects people every day, and it is important that people understand how it plays a role in their lives. I love working with students and seeing the excitement on their faces as they finally “get it.” I assist my students in discovering more about science and in learning for themselves the importance of science outside of the classroom.

My duties involved program planning, community building, enforcing school policies, student relations, and maintaining confidentiality.
SERPENT Project Researcher and Public Relations, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA 2008
SERPENT (Scientific and Environmental ROV Partnership Using Existing Industrial Technology) was involved with monitoring and sampling deep sea organisms in the water column from oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico. My duties included identifying and cataloging video samples, instructing ROV technicians in the sampling methods, and public relations between the oil rigs and project researchers.
Lab Assistant, University of Maine at Machias (Gayle Kraus), Machias, ME 2006-2007
Duties included preparing specimens and other materials for labs, and cataloging data from bird surveys over a twenty year period.
