Sabo a Brazilian based company is a leader in supplying seals and gaskets to the automotive industry.
As a tier one supplier Sabo has maintained customer satisfaction through the implementation of QSB
and TS 16949 quality certification. TS was recently added to the certification at the Lincolnton facility through the hard work of all Lincolnton employees. Sabo Lincolnton is a major supplier to GM, BMW, Volkswagen and other car manufacturers all over the world.
Production Manager
Managed 150 employees including 2 salaried supervisors. Plannned and managed production of a three shift facility producing near 2 million dollars of product every week. Being a tier one supplier to the automotive industry requires that the upmost attention to detail and quality must be kept at all times, this is achieved through the implementation of TS 16949 and QSB quality system.
* First employee hired helping with all aspects of the plant development from setting the first piece of machinery, operating this equipment and learning about manufacturing oil seals from the ground up.
* Certifications include but not limited to are: TS Auditor, PPAP start to finish, GD&T, QSB, and 5`S implementation.
* Experience in SAP inventory control system.
* Five years Injection Molding experience, producing Bonded Piston Seals as well as oil seals.
* Phosphate and adhesive metal treatment experience.

LA-Z-BOY INCORPORATED-Lincolnton, NC 2006-June 2007
La-Z-Boy is a world leader in upholstery furniture manufacturing, with net sales of over one billion dollars. La-Z-Boy is one of the largest residential furniture producers in the world. The Lincolnton facility has been its leader in cellular manufacturing with cells producing over 75% of the total production, concentrating on upholstered recliners.
Cell Production Manager
La-Z-Boy`s first manager to successfully manage six cells consisting of 50 employees. Monitored and maintained maximum production meeting or exceeding weekly requirements while maintaining strict quality goals.
* Teamed with the Continuous Improvement group to develop a Kanban system for each cell providing them with all materials needed to build each cells product line.
* Developed process for one piece flow in each cell eliminating almost all WIP.
* Adopted and maintained a 5S+1 system which kept each area immaculately clean organized and safe.
* Performed Kaizens and cell balancing in the cells in order to further improve process flow and efficiency. Each cell balance increased productivity by at least 20% to 30%.
* Motivated and maintained these six cells into becoming the most successful cells at La-Z-Boy. Documented that these cells (25% of the workforce) performed over 40% of the plants production.
TALLENT INTERNATIONAL CONSULTING-Vale, NC 2002-2006
Solely owned agency formed with a concentration in the furniture industry and experience in Asia. Manufacturing Consultant
Consulted with various companies and industries on multiple issues including but not limited to packaging/shipping, equipment issues, manufacturing flow, space and labor issues.
* Traveled to factory in Ho Chi Min City, Vietnam to decrease shipping damage to product being shipped to the U.S. Developed improved packaging system for factory that employees over 5000 people. After six months of implementation and tracking, the new system was estimated to have reduced damage by 46% resulting in over 400,000 dollars saved in a 12 month cycle.
* Researched used equipment cost and adaptability to be bought and shipped to various furniture companies in Asia. Acted as representative at many auctions to purchase equipment for these companies. During four different purchases, analyzed and purchased over $500,000 dollars worth of equipment.
* Machinery Rigger Manager staffing a team of eight to tear down, crate-up, load, and arrange containers for all equipment going to China and Vietnam, working with freight forwarders in Charlotte, NC and Charleston, SC.
* Traveled to Johnshang, China working with Asian Dynasty, a medium sized factory with 700 employees in three different facilities. Examined areas where quality could be improved in order to establish Asian Dynasty as a maker of quality furniture in the eyes of U.S. consumers. Discovered processes where inferior materials and construction were being used. Was documented that sales increased over 25% during the next 18 months due mainly to a better quality product.
* Was recruited by factory in China to help with the design and process flow of a new 500,000 square foot manufacturing facility.
* Asian Dynasty is now a world leader in China made quality furniture.
BAKER FURNITURE-Hildebran, NC 2000-2002
Privately held company, owned by the Kohler family, Baker produces fine home furnishings.
Area Manager
Managed a workforce of 70 employees in the machining and assembly of all wood parts for this facility.
* Designed and implemented lay-out for the woodworking and assembly area for this 50,000 square foot area.
* Led five Kiazen events during this time achieving and exceeding Bakers goal of a savings of $10,000 per event.
* Facilitated the conception and building of new market samples.
HICKORY CHAIR COMPANY-Hickory, NC 1986-2000
Hickory Chair, one of the most prestigious exposed wood furniture maker, has over 400 employees and net sales over $75 million.
Woodworking Manager
Managed 50 employees in the machining of all wood parts from the rough mill to final assembly.
* Developed and implemented PM and Safety Program. Hickory Chair was awarded for having over 2 million hours without a lost time accident.
* Leader of many Kaizen projects.
* Implemented and lead the first use of CNC equipment at Hickory Chair.
* Reduced delivered time from 12 weeks to 4 weeks through lean manufacturing and process improvement.
