Century Biological collected and processed outdated human plasma for use in biological products such as diagnostic reagents. I negotiated procurement agreements with hospitals in Ohio, Indiana and Illinois part time, while traveling as American Business Group`s Midwest representative collecting out-dated blood plasma from hospitals and blood banks.

American Business Group New York City and Detroit, Michigan. I was the Assistant to the Vice President of Sales Michael Posner and later ABG`s Midwest sales representative - four years, two in New York City and two in Detroit. I developed Systems Contracting sales programs for non-production MRO (Maintenance & Routine Operating) supplies involving office supplies & printing on a cost-plus sole-supplier basis to major corporation chief financial and purchasing executives, such as Allegheny Airlines, American Airlines, Eastern Airlines, Merrill-Lynch and Parke-Davis. Our unique Systems Contracts eliminated the customer`s inventory, warehousing, and personnel costs through direct shipment to their end users with monthly accounting.

Parke, Davis & Company Detroit, Michigan - 9 years. My last position was the Senior Purchasing Agent supervising the 8-member buying group responsible buying all of the P-D`s worldwide packaging materials and printing needs. I reported to the Vice President of Purchasing. My Parke-Davis career began as a graduate chemist right out of college as P-D`s Scientific Equipment & Supplies Buyer with the responsibilities for scientific instrumentation, equipment, laboratory chemicals & supplies and services. Responsibilities included purchasing for facilities in Detroit, Ann Arbor, Rochester, and Holland, Michigan as well as P-D`s Canadian. Puerto Rican, and overseas subsidiaries. Parke-Davis was the world`s largest pharmaceutical manufacturer and later was acquired by Warner-Lambert, which is now part of Pfizer.

City of Detroit Historic Designation Advisory Board Member. I`ve been on the Board since appointed by Detroit City Council in 2002 and have served as its Vice Chairman. The 9-member board evaluates property for historic designation at the request of the Detroit City Council and makes the recommendation whether or not such property should be designated historic to Council.

Detroit Historical Museum and the Detroit Historical Society - I`ve been the Adjunct Curator of the Glancy Trains Collection for the past 26 years and for six years, 2004 to 2010, I was a Detroit Historical Society Trustee and one of its leading fund-raisers. I have been overseen the Museum`s Glancy toy train exhibit, one of the most popular at the museum, which in large part I designed.

Bluewater Michigan Chapter, National Railway Historical Society I was a founding member of the Chapter in 1983, and its past president and development director. This historical railroad preservation group operates excursion trains. As membership chairman I led the Chapter to become the largest rail history group in U.S. And I`ve handled the maintenance & rebuilding of their railroad passenger cars as well as organizing and promoting their many steam and diesel locomotive powered excursions for the public.

Indian Village Historical Collections, Inc. I am the founder and past president of Detroit`s Indian Village Archives from 1973 to the present. And, I am the co-founder of the Historic Indian Village Home & Garden Tour in 1973 and for a long time was its leader. It is one of the best known such events in metropolitan Detroit and the second oldest such annual tour in Michigan, now in its 38th year.

The Historic Indian Village Association, Inc. I am a past president and a past board member of this homeowner`s association founded in 1937 of this City, State & National Historic District of the homes of prominent Detroiters dating to 1895. As such I`ve been Involved in neighborhood issues, such as maintaining the single family zoning, property taxes, police protection, promotion, etc. and I write a monthly historical column in the HIVA`s newsletter, Smoke Signals.

New York Central System Historical Society. I joined in 1979 and have served as a trustee of this historical society dedicated to the preservation of the New York Central Railroad`s history; currently I am the associate editor of Central Headlight and am nationally regarded for my expertise on railroad history.

Detroit 300 Committee I served on the Detroit 300 subcommittee involved with documenting and promoting Detroit`s history on the 300th anniversary of its founding in 2001, served 1999-2001.

Other Memberships: Memberships include the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and the Engineering Society of Detroit, The Algonquin Club of Detroit & Windsor founded 1934 to study local history and current events - and the past editor of its newsletter, The Algonquian. Other memberships include the prestigious Waweatonong Club of Grosse Pointe and listing in The Social Secretary. I was Private Pilot with an ASEL license and flying experience out of major airports.

The University of Toledo, Toledo, Ohio. B.S. in Chemistry (American Chemical Society certified program). My majors also included Mathematics, German and ROTC. I am a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity`s Gamma Nu Chapter. And I was its President, and as Rush Chairman I recruited the largest Pledge Class ever - over 40 members. I played Varsity football and was the Managing Editor University`s The Tower Literary Magazine, and made the scholastic honor roll on occasion.

Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan. M.B.A. studies in Marketing, Management, Business Law, Accounting, Statistics, etc., but I didn`t complete due to relocation to New York City. Earlier was attached to the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina; as a reservist I was a student and served as a staff officer with 5032 U.S. Army Reserve School at Historic Fort Wayne in Detroit.

Personal

Born in Toledo, Ohio, I was married to the late Virginia Schlatter for 39-years until her death in 1999. Our three children are: Benefits Representative M. Douglas Cosgrove of Monroe, Michigan; Chrysler Corporation Chemical Engineer Bradley Gordon Cosgrove of Rochester Hills, Michigan; and Wayne-Westland Public Schools Art Teacher Tracey Anne Cosgrove of Dearborn, Michigan. I have a total of four grandchildren, the oldest of whom just has been accepted in the Mechanical Engineering Program at Michigan Technological University. My best friend is Sylvia S. Sanders of Grosse Pointe, the retired librarian for Albert Kahn Associates architects.
