I&C and I&E Construction Manager

This project was a Design Build for the B&W FGD system on existing Units 1&2. Replace two UATs, 20MVA each, HV 16kV. Modify the isolated phase bus to accommodate the new transformers. Replace two existing two (2) winding RATs (one per unit) with new three (3) winding RATs. Replaced the unit differential (SEL) relays as required for the new UATs and the switchyard differential (SEL) relays as required for the new RATs. Two prefabricated electrical buildings and MV cable tray and cables installed. I&C included a Honeywell TDC3000 to interface with the existing plant system. General overall electrical construction to meet specifications. Upgrade of (3) river water supply pumps & motors with modifications to the existing switchgear starters and controls.

New York City Transit Authority Project. Installation startup and commissioning of 34 frequency converters that produced 650Volts, single phase, 25Hz power, for signal and switching of the New York City subway system. This replaced the ConEdison power they stopped producing.

Additional Projects: System configuration and testing of equipment controls for (12) Load Commutated Inverters, rated at 10,000HP each, to run (12) 2.5KV 6,000HP motors. Controlled by a P80 programmer, MMI, redundant FIP highway to remote I/O, K-Bus Protocol, Alspa PLC with CE8020 I/O modules, for the southern California Metropolitan Water District, Emergency Eastside Water Reservoir Project.

(1999) Assigned to the ALSTOM Marine and Offshore Division Miami, Florida. Senior Field Engineer Specialist for service, repair and startup and commissioning of electric Pod propulsion and auxiliary support systems, heavy rotating equipment, converters, generators, automated controls, monitoring systems, vendor hardware and software, for large cruise ships and super tankers. Interfaced with customer management and customer engineering personnel to make precision measurements and non-destructive examinations and repairs during dry dock.
