Founded Smooth Sailing Press, an innovative blending of both traditional and subsidy publishing. This model provides the unique opportunity for authors to retain their copyright without sacrificing the marketing benefits found in traditional publishing. As a sole proprietor, single handedly formulated the business model and developed all necessary departmental processes and procedures. What started with one imprint has grown to five industry recognized publishing imprints sold nationwide. All products are warehoused and shipped from Smooth Sailing Press operations center.

LAUNCHED FIVE PUBLISHING IMPRINTS that involve domestic, in-house and foreign produced books and gift items. Direct oversight of all phases of production from ideation to wholesale / retail sales.

RESPONSIBLE FOR SELECTION OF ALL PUBLISHING PROJECTS. Personally work with each author to take project from initial query to final edited manuscript ready for publication.

Transitioned from Vice-President of Marketing for Genesis Marketing Group (a division of Dominion Industries) to become the Chief Operating Officer of Stone Haven Gifts. The new company produced net sales of over $750,000 in the first year of operation and began with national representation in both the general gift and CBA (Christian Bookseller`s Association) markets.

PLANNED AND COORDINATED THE LAYOUT AND DESIGN OF PHYSICAL PLANT. Responsible for total build-out of the facility, including negotiation of space for offices and production/warehouse functions.

DEVELOPED SYSTEMS AND WROTE PROCESSES for production, warehousing, shipping, budgeting and accounting functions. Hired and trained staff for each department to ensure a smooth, effective operation. Researched and negotiated with shipping and database vendors to purchase products and services.
