Built/managed the first structured accounting function for this $20 million privately owned manufacturing company. Directed the daily activity of the accounting department, and internalized functions previously performed by outside accounting firms. Effort insured compliance to IRS Regulations and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and reduced accounting fees by approximately $50,000 annually.
Created and implemented a new general ledger system. Logically reassigned all account numbers, eliminated duplicate/unnecessary accounts (20+) and created capability for improved/more meaningful, timely, and accurate month-end reporting and closing of books for multiple divisions.
Corrected major problems with invoicing process. Raised awareness of need and built controls to insure more timely and improved receipt of signed delivery tickets. Efforts eliminated embarrassing customer follow-up calls and guaranteed deliveries would be invoiced the same day. Controls initially recovered $165,000 that otherwise would never have been collected and reduced lost tickets by over 20%.
Recognized the need and provided financial management/control of a $1 million inventory. Introduced an audit program which improved and maintained accuracy of inventory. Raised awareness of the issue among management and significantly reduced Ad-Valorem Taxes by identifying and eliminating a $400,000 over- statement of value.
Created new process for accountability in managing receivables. Used reports to track daily sales outstanding and personally/aggressively managed collection efforts monthly. Initially collected almost $600,000 in excessively past due funds and then reduced average collection cycle by 30-60 days.
Created an employee expense reporting policy and procedure. Instituted a new departmental management approval process of A/P. The new procedures eliminated over-reliance on petty cash, restored compliance to IRS Regulations and contributed directly to a 15% decrease in day-to-day expenses.
Reconciled multiple bank accounts and weekly tracked cash in/out of 9 separate accounts. Accurately provided first-ever and real-time cash position, payroll/expense analysis and forecasting information to owners on a weekly basis.

Managed integration of all reporting for this $6-million plastics manufacturing operation into parent companies ERP System. Successfully and seamlessly completed integration to MAS 200 ERP system on schedule and on budget. Project reduced accounting costs by $65,000 annually due to eliminating duplicate systems.
Managed day-to-day accounting operations for this 35-employee plastics manufacturing operation while consolidating department into Headquarters accounting department. Maintained and/or Implemented processes which improved payroll, inventory and operational results tracking as well as designed and adjusted Bills of Materials for the Rotek division.

Set up and managed daily operation of ground services at Tulsa Hub and 4 other stations for this start-up airline. Developed policies and procedures and set up loss-control processes. Managed all stations within budget and achieved a 96% on-time departure rate.
Managed in-flight services department. Recruited a senior trainer, co-authored an FAA approved training manual, and insured flight attendants completed the intense 4-week training program thus providing adequate crews were available on time for inaugural flights.
Negotiated terminal rental contracts and established/managed in-flight catering operations. Quality operation contributed to positive customer satisfaction ratings. Designed a loss prevention program that kept loss/shrinkage at acceptable levels.

Created and managed Station Operations, In-flight Service, Scheduling, Accounting/Finance and Personnel functions for this start-up regional airline. Opened and supervised operations at 24 stations on the Eastern Seaboard and managed a workforce in excess of 300 employees. Start up was most successful in parent companys history, with revenues reaching $100 million in just 5 years.
Established the aircraft scheduling department and personally scheduled all flights for 37 aircraft with an eye towards cost control and optimizing revenue opportunities. Operation was a key factor in explosive revenue growth and regularly adapted to trends/passenger preferences in a constantly changing industry.
