Experience: Renewable Energy Conference & Solar Home Tour Coordinator. Coordinated the 1996
Tidewater Tour of the American Solar Energy Society s National Tour of Solar Homes and
organized a corresponding renewable energy conference at Old Dominion University. This
included: soliciting sponsors, including ODUs Electrical Engineering Department;
identifying expert speakers for the conference, locating potential homes and requesting
participation in the tour (since there had not been a tour in the area since the 1970s, this was
an arduous task); preparation of tour and conference brochure; and negotiation of free event
promotion through public radio announcements and a feature in the home/real estate section

Freelance Science Writer. 1991-1997. Several short articles appearing in Popular Science
focusing on green technologies or programs including water treatment, wave power and net

Provided administrative assistance for the real estate department. To confirm employment
and eligibility for rehire contact B.J. Shelton, Chief of Human Resources, Richmond Office,
Environmental Program Analyst. 1988-1989. The Bruce Company (an ICF sub),
Washington, D.C. Provided onsite research assistance for the Global Change Division of
the Environmental Protection Agency. Responsibilities included: drafting responses to
congressional and public inquiries related to ozone depletion and global warming;
reviewing, compiling and disseminating information about global change to staff; critiquing
and editing grant proposals; preparation of presentation materials; and identification of
industry participants and coordination of meetings to promote replacement and recovery of
CFCs.

Personal: Creative, motivated and informed 49 year old, married mother of 4. Despite the lengthy
