Teach graduate level courses to prospective and current school administrators. Supervise and
mentor principal interns. Courses include: The Principalship, Administrative Internship, Principal
Fellows Seminar, Educational Finance, The Academic and Social Effects of Brown vs. Board of
Education, and Concepts and Cases in School Administration.
Conduct research. Present at local, regional and national conferences. Collaborate with
interdisciplinary team to write grant proposal designed to address the minority achievement gap.
Serve on planning team for doctoral cohort focused on highly impacted schools. Teach summer
courses via distance learning. Advise students. Serve on Dissertation Committees. Volunteer in
local schools, with an emphasis on assisting girls in social and academic development.

management systems for scheduling, enrollment, and attendance purposes, ordered textbooks and
supplies, supervised custodial and cafeteria staff, collaborated with parents, central office, board
members and media, assessed school climate and learning environment, facilitated recognitions
and incentives for students, supported teachers via resources, classroom visits, and
professionalism. Initiated STARS program, Students Taking Active Roles in School, to
encourage greater sense of responsibility, civic action and pride. Wrote (and received) grant to
purchase culturally relevant literature for children of color. Lead teachers through process of
Comprehensive Scheduling that allowed for more differentiated instruction and more time in
select subject matter. Piloted Looping concept with a few teachers to discern whether certain
children would experience greater success with the increase in teacher stability. Established
safety policies. Worked with parent organizations to create spaces for more representative parent
participation. Maintained excellent communication with the media that provided good public
relations for our school.

Primary role was that of 9th grade supervisor. I supported 9th grade teachers, disciplined 9th grade
students (primarily), established lunch time discussion groups to open the lines of communication
with first time high-schoolers, conducted classroom observations and conferences, assisted
teachers in their development, conducted staff development sessions, set up free SAT prep
classes. Wrote grants that encouraged Black male students to consider the teaching profession.
