-current Multimedia Design Lab & Graphic Arts Lab ManagerInstructional Media Center, Worcester Polytechnic Institute
Solely responsible for the day to day management and operation of both
the Graphic Arts Lab and the Multimedia Design Lab.Overall, I
designed, built and maintain 22 state-of-the-art WindowsNT computers.
In the Design Lab I instruct and teach both faculty and students all
aspects of the lab, as well as key software for the production of
graphics, 3D animation and multimedia. In the Graphic Arts Lab, I
specifically design multimedia, graphics and 3D animation for
professors for use in both instruction and presentation.I am
proficient with many software packages as well as a strong knowledge
in computer architecture and peripherals. The following are just some
of the software packages
I use on a daily basis: Adobe Photoshop,
Corel Draw & Photopaint, Microsoft Word-Powerpoint-Excel-FrontPage,
Caligari Truespace, Autodesk 3D Studio Max, Asymetrix Toolbook, Adobe
Premier as well as HTML.
Technical Skills:
Thorough knowledge of computers, electronics, mechanics and graphical
design, both pc and mac based.I am proficient in over 30 different
software packages and have the ability to learn quickly all the up and
coming releases.
Skills:
Currently I direct and manage all aspects of WPI's Graphic Arts Lab,
consisting of myself and five part-time workers.I have a strong
reputation for the ability to instruct professors as well as students
in the use of the lab as well as the many software packages available.
As well, I have an inventive mind.For example, I received a $200,000
grant to design and construct the new Graphic Arts Lab. After
receiving bids from various computer companies to supply hardware for
the new lab, it fell short from what the campus expected. Therefore, I
set up a web based bidding page, dissecting all the hardware to be
bought. The lowest original bid came in at $80,000, but the web based
bidding dropped the equipment cost to $53,000.
Interests:
My primary interests lie within the arts.In 1991 I wrote and produced
a Worcester based drama television series for the local cable
channel.I have done freelance work as a videographer with Elite
Modeling Agency, as well as graphic design for local Web authoring
companies. Also, on the side, I have written two motion picture scripts
and currently working on a third, as well as designing a short 3D
Animation feature that I plan on entering into animation festivalsin
the summer of 1998.
Relocation Information:
Primarily, I would prefer to stay in the Massachusetts area but would
consider relocating if a prime opportunity arose.
Salary Requirements:
$45,000 or more
