Description:
Since March 1998, the Bank Card Center has been building their MIS system
that used an Oracle database along with the existing application system.
The new database structure included the on-line transaction database,
settlement record database, workflow database, chargeback (customer
dispute transactions) case database and the Visa/MasterCard input
transaction database. These databases were running on NT server and IBM
AIX. There were two major application systems in Visual Basic 5.0/6.0
using these Oracle databases.
Responsibilities:
Built and maintained five Oracle databases, which existed on the IBM AIX
and Windows NT server during the development, testing, and production
stage of the application.
Built the OEM for monitoring the system performance, which included the
space usage, SQL statements, memo usage, and storage structure.
Developed the backup and restore database procedures.
Ensured database backups and recovery.
Developed stored procedures to implement back-end jobs such as data
transfer, archive, reporting, etc.
Upgraded the system from Oracle 8.0.3/8.0.4 to Oracle 8i.
Handled the database administration for two platforms (NT and AIX) and
six databases.
Debugged and updated the Visual Basic source code of the chargeback
automation system and the transaction processing system.
Performed enhancements on the Visual Basic code (added functions or
public modules) based on user requirements and changes in linkage

BSP Air Tickets Transaction processing System

Description:
This System was developed for processing Credit Card purchases of Air
Ticket transactions through the ITIA BSP system. These transactions were
an on-line processing part of the ITIA system, but an off-line processing
on the Visa and MasterCard network. As a major bank in Singapore, we
developed this system for billing cardholder accounts and made payments to
travel agents and airline companies.
Responsibilities:
Developed the project design for the whole life cycle.
Coded the interface for other systems and mainframes.
Automated the GRIO job in the application.

This system was used for processing merchant payments. It was developed 4
years ago using VB3.0 and Access 2.0. The system function included the
settlement data input, check issue, check cancel, finance report
processing and merchant information maintenance. This Project was for
redeveloping the system to make it Y2K compliant.
Responsibilities:
Analyzed the old system, which was developed by another team.
Designed the new system and made the plan for redeveloping and
conversion.
Developed the system using 32 bit-programming concepts.
Changed the 16-bits API calls to 32-bit ActiveX controls.
Rewrote the security model using C++ and upgraded the Access database to
version 2.0.

Customer Dispute Processing Automation System

Description:
This system was used to process transaction related customer disputes,
internally referred to as chargeback. The automated system would help the
officer capture the transaction detail information from the mainframe or
from the in-house settlement database, retrieve the sale draft from the
acquired bank and complete the chargeback. The system was also used to
monitor the entire case processing and capture the case data from the
mainframe to support the case settlement. The system added about 40 cases
daily. The case processing was monitored for approximately six months to
complete the cycle of processing. The workflow engine controlled the
entire processing. This system s market value is about 1 million
Singapore Dollars.
Responsibilities:
Developed the logical and physical design of the system.
Developed the Oracle storage procedure in PL/SQL, the batch end job in
Visual C++ and also the interface between the Oracle storage procedure and
the TeamWare Workflow server.
Coded the ActiveX Controls to connect the clients of this application
with CARDLINK.
Implemented the application.
Upgraded Oracle 8.0.3/8.0.4 to 8.1.5/8.1.6.

client models with Powerbuild 4.0 running on Windows 3.1.
Responsibilities:
Analyzed the old system and reviewed the Informix structure.
Defined the scheduled job to run the daily batch job using shell script.
Coded the APPC programming to connect and retrieve data from the IBM

Developed parallel running models of folio processing and re-developed

the PICK database.
