UNITED STATES ARMY, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. * 2003-2012

Chief, Detainee Operations Division, Office of the Provost Marshal General, Army Staff (2011-2012)

Orchestrated the corrections and internment branch, while simultaneously managing the national detainee-reporting center. Implemented and achieved goals for tracking, reporting and managing accurate information regarding detainees captured by U.S. and Allied Forces. Provided subject matter expertise to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Detainee Policy. Primary point of contact for government agencies and Congressional delegations, driving collaboration and discussion on improvements and deployment of Department of Defense policies and plans focused on overseas contingency operations.

* Directed a high-level government department. Conducted policy reviews and built consensus toward a course of action for effective policy and doctrine revision. Established an organization dedicated to achieving these goals.

* Managed the flow of information from sections, subordinate elements, other Federal operations and Military organizations.

Oversaw 3 Military Police companies in support of Iraq military operations, managing the only high value detainee facility in the theater. Enforced detainee treatment in alignment with the Geneva Convention, Multi-National Commander Iraq detention policies, and international laws and protocols. Provided support to TF 134 commanders in order to ensure safety and security for all detainees. Maintained 100% soldier and equipment readiness for mission success.

* Fostered better relationships with the U.S. Embassy and U.S. Marshal Services by developing a working environment and providing personal attention to operational concerns, questions, and proposed courses of action for joint operations, movement of detainees, and the conditions involved.
