Dear Firm,
I am an alumnus from Roger Williams University School of Architecture with a Five Year Study in architecture. I am interested in applying to your firm. I feel as though I would be a likely candidate for your firm. With a Bachelor of Science Degree, a few of the things I have personally enjoyed taking part in and have grown from are my class projects and assignments. One project included some housing for Florence Italy, I was so lucky to do on my study abroad semester. Another included the Gaza Strip and was called the macro project a. k. a. Kanunis Island. The Project helped those suffering through the war and violence by providing the people homes and actual land to live on. Approximately 60,000 could live on the proposed man-made island we created in a group project. Working with a group my own age with the help of a few professors was interesting and very dynamic.
Recently I have been working on constructing floor plans for some commercial stores in need of escape plans and renovations. Along with this a few houses have come into my opportunity and have had the chance to work on them and bring a new perspective on the profession.
Related work with training two employees at my part time job in Retail has been a useful experience. I have also had the experience of moving around floor plans and creating and organizing new advertisements or feature walls and manikins on the sales floor. This along with my on campus job which kept up several administrators and serviced several students created a positive work experience with people.
Hopefully I can be a part of your business. I do believe in a positive work environment and friendly people. I do enjoy working in AutoCAD, Revit, and drafting. I also would enjoy working in a group as I have trained and supported several new hires in the past skills in retail and would enjoy transferring them into Architecture. I do use computers and basic hand drafting skills to make floor plans and other architecture drawings. Model making is something I do enjoy and take time to do well.
