OBJECTIVE
To change job fields that draws upon my degrees and course work, enables my creativity and potentially makes use of my debating skills. If the job involves politics, physical science, biology, physics, or philosophy that would be a bonus as these are some of my passions. I seek a job with growth potential that allows me to learn and grow as part of the job. I like repetitive production work, application of scientific theory, and the challenge of competition. EXPERIENCE
1987 to present. Washington Intelligence Bureau, caging department, Chantilly, Va. Caging involves processing mail and contributions for various fundraising clients. I verify finder and mail codes for political accounts. One of three who open and sort anywhere from 30,000 to 120,000 pieces of mail daily. I also operate a folding machine in the mailing department where I fold letters, brochures, newsletters etc. I have folded as many as 120,000 pieces a day. I also have run inserting machines that stuff letters. I also have peripheral duties such as janitorial, painting, and retrieving materials.
1981 to 1987. Owned and operated Letterperfect Printing, Alexandria, Virginia. Printing consisted of direct mailing pieces for political accounts, membership materials for various trade associations, and various other types of printing such as newsletters, brochures, etc.. The equipment used were 3 small offset presses, a camera for making negatives for offset plates, a folding machine, a die cutting machine for making rolodex cards, and a stitcher for binding. The company employed 10 to 13 people.
1977 to 1981. United States House of Representatives, Publications and Distribution Department, Washington, DC, I was a folder operator and supervisor second shift. I supervised about 20 to 25 people, coordinated and allocated the production flow, and trouble shot folding machines.
1977 to 1977. Data Terminal Systems, Alexandria, Virginia. Salesman. Marketed electronic cash registers, Montgomery County, Maryland.
1976 to 1977. University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville, Virginia. Security Guard. Performed traffic control at entrance to the Emergency Room, secured entrance doors, managed disturbances.
Summers 1971, 1972, and 1973. R. E. Lee and Sons, Charlottesville, Virginia. General Construction Laborer. Erected/Dismantled scaffolding, stocked mortar and bricks, assisted bricklayers.
