Mostly employed for 31 years as a loyal, dedicated nurse in the Centura system, mainly in the psychiatric area, and will continue this valuable career for many more years to come. Arapahoe Douglas Mental Health Network June 2011 - current time. On call RN at Bridge House Acute Treatment Unit, passing medications, specializing in Dialectical Group Therapy, direct patient care, patient assessments, treatment, and safety contracts.

Jefferson Center for Mental Health, Cedar Location September 2011 - January 2012. One of the two RNs for the five hundred patients at this location. I managed the Clozaril Clinic, 125 patients, their medications and scheduled lab work. Refilled medications, refilled medication boxes, and gave long acting injections. The RN for the psychiatric needs of patients from nursing homes and group homes. Worked long hours after I had been there a month and a half and the other RN resigned.

RN at Denver Health Psychiatric Units August 2010 - March 2011. Delivered total patient care as a full time RN on both locked psychiatric units, mentored DBT group therapy and goals groups.

RN at the Hospice of St. John, Lakewood, CO. July - August 2010. PRN RN delivering palliative care, pain relief, and emotional support on 12 hour night shifts. A rewarding position, however Denver Health offered me a psychiatric position that had guaranteed evening hours in my field.

RN at Porter Adventist Psychiatric Locked Unit June 2004 - December 2009. Passed medications for up to 26 patients, educated staff in DBT group skills,taught chemical dependency groups, developed treatment plans, did 1:1 therapy, was a discharge nurse, and helped with case management, being very cost effective. Did detox, wound care, diabetic management, and other medical care-at times using IVs.

Program RN/ Therapist at Porter Adventist Center for Behavioral Health's Senior Intensive

Outpatient Patient Program, Partial Hospitalization, and DBT Program March 2001-June 2004.

Treatment planning, teaching of life skills, assessments, medication management, group therapy, and 1:1s to return to optimal level of functioning. These two programs were closed by administration.

RN at Centura's Adult Day Program, Senior Life Center October 2000 - March 2001. Oversaw the direct care over adults with disabilities who spent the day at this center. Gave medication and treatments, communicated with families, and developed care plans.

The RN who provided medication management with the psychiatrist and communicated with patients families, or outside agencies, did groups, and teaching to return to optimal level of functioning .

RN at St. Anthony Centrals Locked Psychiatric Unit November 20, 1978 - December 1998. Staff RN, charge RN, and medication RN doing direct patient care, group therapy, admissions, discharges, treatment planning, overseeing seclusion and restraints, low level interventions to

prevent seclusion and restraints. Detoxified patients from alcohol with IVs using the CIWA scale, and delivered medical care including wound care and some tube feelings.

RN at Mt. Airy Psychiatric Hospital Therapeutic Community Unit, Denver June 1978 - November 1978. RN on the evening shift passing medications and running group therapy, mainly with AXIS II patients.

RN at the Lincoln Regional Center State Hospital, Nebraska, starting in the Forensic Unit and then The Adolescent Unit June 1975 - May 1978. The only RN on evenings on the 100 bed forensic unit mainly using interventions to manage agitation, psychosis, anger, violence- passing medications, and delivering medical treatments. I later transferred to the adolescent unit where there were some children, and was the team leader for the girls unit.
