SEPTEMBER 28, 2009 - NOVEMBER 21, 2012 Occupational Health Technician, Government Service employee at the Naval Health Care Clinic in Charleston, South Carolina. I managed the Hearing Conservation Program and was certified by the Navy and Marine Corps Public Health Center to perform pure tone audiograms using the DOEHRS system. I successfully completed the NIOSH-APPROVED BASIC SPIROMETRY COURSE which certified me to perform pulmonary function tests using the Eaglet Pneumotech System for 41 tenant commands in Charleston as needed per the Occupational Health doctor`s orders and I performed routine vital signs. I am BLS certified for Healthcare Providers (CPR and AED) for infant, child and adult CPR. I have a SECRET clearance that doesn`t expire until 2022. I also assisted the Occupational Health Doctor and the Occupational Health Nurse daily by ensuring all departmental administrative duties were accurately completed and I was responsible for maintaining 500 Health Records in accordance with the HIPPA Act. I ordered labs for MVO, DOT, Climber, Explosive Handler, Explosive Driver, Firefighter, OMSEP, Hazardous Drug, and Reproductive Hazard physicals. I also ordered chest x-rays for the Asbestos Program physicals. FEBRUARY 2009 - SEPTEMBER 2009 Leading Chief Petty Officer (LCPO), Charleston Naval Health Care Clinic, Occupational Health Department. I performed pure tone audiograms and pulmonary function testing`s for 41 different tenant commands in the Charleston area. As the LCPO of the Occupational Health Department I worked closely with the Occupational Health Nurse and Doctor by ensuring the administrative duties were completed before scheduled due dates. I oversaw all facets of the department by ensuring all the needs of the patients were met in a safe environment. I was responsible for the department`s 500 medical records and maintained them in an efficient manner making sure they were handled in accordance with the HIPPA Act. I kept my staff motivated by staying motivated myself. This created a non-stressful environment to work in and the productivity was always at 100 percent. I always had a great deal of passion while performing my duties and looked forward to returning to work every day.

AUGUST 2008 - FEBRUARY 2009 Leading Chief Petty Officer for the Naval Health Care Clinic Charleston Staff Education and Training (SEAT) Department. I was responsible for two civilians and seven senior and junior Petty Officers. As a Chief Petty Officer I am charged with instilling Honor, Courage and Commitment in my personnel. I teach them skills so they too can be successful in their Navy career such as I have been. My responsibilities range from administration to personally counseling my personnel on issues relevant to the Training Department and handling any personal problems that may arise. The department had an annual budget of $3,500 with the option of receiving more funds on a case by case basis. I managed the commands intranet based SEAT home page, organize the commands orientation program for new arrival active duty sailors, ensured the annual required general training is completed by 300 active duty members stationed at the command and maintained and tracked 300 training records resulting in a training compliance of over 90 percent for the Naval Health Care Clinic staff.

DECEMBER 2005 - AUGUST 2008 Medical Department Leading Petty Officer, Naval Consolidated Brig Charleston. Multi-service, level two prison facility. Provides security, mental health and rehabilitation services for up to 300 multi-service prisoners serving up to ten year sentences. I supported the national defense mission through enemy combatant detention operations. Responsible for the healthcare and treatment of 300 prisoners and staff, ensuring that all facets of the medical operations are performed. Personally supervised 4 junior and senior Hospital Corpsman during their daily duties of performing sickcall, passing medications four times a day and scheduling outside medical and dental appointments for the prisoners. I also tracked the medical readiness of the staff members by updating immunizations, required annual Physical Health Assessments and scheduling required dental exams attaining a 98 percent readiness level for the command. I developed and maintained the best division and officer files for each of the medical personnel to track individual progress with their personnel qualification standards, correspondence courses, awards and special request/leave chits. I was also responsible to teach multiple Blood Born Pathogens classes during new arrival staff member indoctrination.

JANUARY 2003 - DECEMBER 2005 Assistant Battalion Medical Chief/Leading Battalion Chief Petty Officer responsible for locating, closing with and destroying enemy targets through fire and maneuver and to provide Tactical Combat Casualty Care to Marines and Sailors assigned to the 1st Battalion, 3rd Marines. Directly responsible for 64 senior and junior Hospital Corpsman providing healthcare maintenance and acute care for 1250 Marines. Superior leader and mentor with proven ability to organize and execute intense missions during combat operations in Fallujah, Iraq -Operation Phantom Fury-. Personally retrieved, triaged, treated and evacuated 74 seriously wounded combat casualties while under enemy small arms, automatic machine gun and rocket propelled grenade fire with no preventable loss of life or limb. I additionally cared for and evacuated 46 walking wounded Marines and Sailors. My exceptional mentorship resulted in 100 percent career retention of all the Battalion Aid Station Corpsman.
