I have 6 years of experience in the HR field. I am fluent in Spanish can write a little but often seek assistance with the written grammar.
My responsibilities include all areas of Human Resources for 160 local employees across 6 locations in the Las Vegas Region to include Kingman AZ. I was supported by a small HR department based out of the corporate office in California.
Recruitment and Employee Retention
Recruitment, Pre Interviewing of applicants, Introducing Applicants who meet the standards of SA Recycling to department managers or supervisor for final interview.
Submit applicants background check employment verification.
Once the applicant successfully completes the pre-employment drug screen and pre-employment physical they are scheduled for new hire safety following with the new hire orientation covering yard information, emergency contacts as well as cover the employee hand book.
Maintain and secure all employee files.
Schedule and process all PTO submissions once approved by supervisors and yard GM.
Upon completion of 90 day introductory period, I administer a Benefits meeting with eligible employees. I explain the benefits offered by SA Recycling. Benefit options as well as assist in completion of paperwork and documentation. Most recently conducting a successful online paperless openenrollment.
Scheduled and conducted Benefits Open Enrollment.
Walk the yards speaking with employees in their departments and interacting with them maintaining open lines of communication between employees and management. This maintains positive moral and productive employees.
Created and maintained a weekly, monthly, yearly hours report comparing our hours of 2012 to hours from 2011 and 2010. This allows for management to see and compare production and cost.
Follow Nevada Labor Law as well a Federal Labor Law doing my best to know what is going on in the HR world and changes coming that may or may not affect SA Recycling and its employees.

Responsible for educating GM's in the Vegas Region as well as the RGM up to date on company policy as well as Federal and State Employment Laws.
Employment verifications-
Built and Maintain a working relationship with Concentra Medical centers who handled all pre-employment drug testing, pre-employment physicals, as well as post-accident or injury care. Meet quarterly with the Concentra centers on cost, SA Recycling requirements and all components necessary to complete pre-employment screening, post accident and injury care.
Attend and participate in all Management Communication meetings, giving HR support and recommendations for yard operations and company policy.
Coordinate employee functions, trainings and holiday parties. Provide the RGM and GM's with the supporting financial information staying within or below the allocated budget.
Possessed the ability to assist in Office, Scale and yard operations ready and willing to jumped in as needed.
Working with a local Middle School Recycling Club educating student on the importance of recycling and what SA Recycling can do for the schools financially.
Built a relationship with Man Power the temporary staffing agency used for most non skilled positions. Maintaining contact to assure goals are met with staffing needs. Review all invoices assuring charges are accurate and consistent with negotiated rates.
Moving forward I hope to accomplish the goals of seamless HR items here in the Vegas Region by resolving the concerns above.
