Dixie has a Master s Degree of Education Administration from the University of Utah
and a Bachelor s Degree in Elementary Education from Utah State University. She
has also taken part in the Utah State sponsored Principal s Academy.
Dixie s experience includes working for Uintah School District for 26+ years where she
has served as an Elementary Teacher, Director of Elementary Education, Student
Services Director, Principal of Davis Elementary, Principal of Discovery Elementary,
Principal of the Discovery 5th Grade Center, and Principal of Uintah High School. She
has been nominated and received awards for State Principal of the Year both at the
elementary and secondary level and Teacher of the Year for Uintah District.
Dixie retired June 2006 to provide more time to continue to serve as a member of the
Utah State Board of Education.
