I am looking for contract projects in: (a) Unify programming on Unix
platforms, and (b) HTML programming on the world wide web, also on
Unix systems. I prefer the Atlanta metropolis, but I will consider
telecommuting and short-term travel worldwide.
UNIFY DATABASES I have worked in Unify & Accell/SQL since September
1990. My work in Unify includes programming in Accell/SQL in 4GL, SQL,
RPT, database design & analysis and DBA. Here is a list of my
experience in reverse chronological order.
June 1995 - February
1996, March 1996 - Present (June 1996) Full-package consulting at
First Baptist Atlanta. I train the DBA, design new schemas and
programs, write and maintain programs in 4GL, SQL, RPT, DBA, design,
analysis on Unify 2000 using Accell/SQL 2.4BBA, and provide user
support. I also provide database recovery. * April 1996 Unify
application conversion from Accell/SQL version 1.3.7 to 2.5 on
Interative Unix for Pep Boys Headquarters in Philadelphia. The final
product was on SCO Unix.
January - February 1996, March - April 1996
Unify application conversion on their Prism product from Acell/SQL
version 1.3 to 2.6 on Interactive Unix for Triad Systems Headquarters
in Livermore, California. The final product was on SCO Unix. *
December 1995 Unify database system analysis and technology transfer
on Accell/SQL 1.3 & Unify 2000 on Data General Aviion systems at
Lumbermen's Credit in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. My name was given to
the client by Unify Corporation.
September 1990 - June 1995Unify
Accel/SQL programming in 4GL, SQL & RPT on Unify 2000 databases on Sun
Sparcstations and Sun workstation, at First Baptist Atlanta, Georgia.
I designed, wrote, tested and maintained all 4GL programs in 3
databases. I also handled rapid application developments and
conversions of Unify versions. The applications that I wrote included
customized programs, batch processing, programs for data entry and
information retrieval in the following areas. I also maintained the
databases and converted them from 1.3.6 to 2.4BBA. * Accounting
Database (US$10 million budget): Large church accounting & finance
database. Including: accounts payable & receivable, general &
recurring journals, year-end closings, budgets, cash receipts. *
Membership Database (14,000 members, 20,000+ visitors): Large church
membership records and activities database. Including: mailing list
processing & maintenance, church activities maintenance, customized
reports. * Scheduling Database (14,000 members, 20,000+ visitors):
Large church events & resource scheduling. Including: hierarchical
event maintenance & scheduling, temporal event propagation, conflict
resolutions, planning calendar.
WORLD WIDE WEB
August 1995 - Present (May 1996) I design web pages,
write HTML programs, maintain the web pages as the webmaster at these
four websites: Watchman Web Works at http://www.watchman.com/, First
Baptist Atlanta at http://fba.org/, St. Xavier's Institution at
http://www.watchman.com/xaverian/, Convent Light Street at
http://www.watchman.com/light_street/.
ORACLE, C
++, Other 4GL * August 1995 - January 1996 Graphical user
interface (GUI) programming in C, C++ and Jam7 on Oracle 7 database on
Sparc 1000 platform for AT&T in Conyers, Georgia. I wrote programs for
a telephone support software. * June - July 1995 Informix 4GL
programming on Informix On-Line database on HP J9000 UNIX system for
Computer Science Corporation (CSC). The final product was installed at
BellSouth. I wrote programs to analyze and process reports on common
causes for trouble tickets for this telephone task generation and
dispatch database.
