QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY

A technically skilled manager in the Telecommunications and Data Pro-

cessing Field with several years experience in Data Center Operations,

and Voice and Data Telecommunications support. Major strengths in

strategic, tactical planning, and project managing.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Designed and implemented an Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN)

utilizing an AT&T 5ESS Digital Switch on the user side and a network

of AT&T Packet units, 3COM Terminal Servers, Lannet Hubs and an FDDI

backbone providing access to several Data General and Prime mini-host

computers. Alternate access to the FDDI backbone was via a series of

Cisco routers and bridges which was part of a campus wide Ethernet

backbone.

Team member for USC's Telemedicine Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM)

Research project. The network incorporated ATM, SMDS, Frame Relay, and

ISDN high-speed switched data services. Network equipment included

Cabletron SwitchHubs, Cisco Routers and Bridges, and ATM switches

giving USC connectivity to several hospitals, and JPL's Cray

supercomputer. The success of the project created demands for

demonstrations for congress and international medical associations.

Managed a team to design, develop, implement and maintain intra-

computer and inter-computer data communication networks to achieve

facility-wide integration of communication equipment and terminals to

maximize terminal-to-host availability and productivity in an SNA and

Ethernet network environment. The network included a fiber optic

backbone network throughout the company for both classified and non-

classified projects.

Managed two major AT&T digital switch 5ESS generic upgrade projects.

The $700 million and $450 million projects were completed on schedule

with no service impact to the customer base.

Developed an organization of 20 highly skilled and experienced

technical personnel to provide operation and engineering support for a

new telecommunications network. This organization replaced three teams

of consultants resulting in an annual saving of $498,000.

My experience in digital networks resulted in acceptance to the

national AT&T 5ESS User's Group, and speaking invitations to Pacific

Bell, California Centrex User's Group, TCA and vendor seminars.
