Correctional Officer

I worked as a Correctional Officer for 4 years, supervising adult male felons in a California State Prison, housing approximately 3500 Psychiatric and Medically assigned inmates. I also worked for 4 years as a Correctional Sergeant and as a Correctional Lieutenant for 10 years, in the same facility.

As a Sergeant, I was responsible for the supervision of Correctional Officers and inmates in the visiting complex, and was also assigned to the Investigative Services Unit/Internal Affairs.

As a Correctional Lieutenant, I performed assigned duties as the Watch Commander with overall responsibility for the operation of the entire prison during the absence of the Warden and/or other administrative staff. I was also the Institutional Training Officer for 2 years.
